After a tumultuous twelfth season of Married at First Sight, Chris Williams II turned to Instagram to give advice to the couples of the next season of the series. From rumored pregnancies to vicious altercations amongst the cast, Chris was involved in a variety of the season’s most violent moments, and his own marriage on the series ended in divorce. Following the tension and heartbreak of the series, Chris used social media to help the next round of couples moving forward, hopefully saving them the pain endured both before and after the show's most recent season.

Married at First Sight took an unusual turn when Chris added an unexpected, unsettling plotline to the most recent season of the series. With revelations about pregnancies with previous partners, cars being bought for other women, and even physical fights breaking out with other couples, Chris brought a negative, ultimately disastrous presence to the show, leading to a number of difficulties throughout the experiment and filming. While engaging for viewers, Paige Banks faced many difficulties on MAFS, along with a number of other cast members because of Chris' abrasive actions.

On July 8, Chris Williams II posted on his Instagram account his afterthoughts on the series, as well as his recommendations for the new couples joining MAFS. The post features a photograph of Chris alongside his mother at his wedding, the two walking down the aisle. While seemingly unrepentant and arrogant on his own season, Chris humbled himself by sending well wishes to the new couples and adding a list of pointers for those participating in the experiment. Surprisingly serious and occasionally humorous, Chris provided a helpful list of ways for couples to get the most out of their marriages, avoiding the questionable choices Chris made on MAFS. Out of his long list of pointers, some of his most crucial bits of advice included not “lett[ing] the fans get you out of character,” “enjoy this moment,” “don’t punch your castmates,” and “don’t read the comments.” Focused on avoiding outside influences, Chris stresses the importance of intimacy throughout the experiment. As he concludes his post, he humorously notes how @mafsfan plays an integral role in the process: “Lastly, get on @mafsfan good side.

While the sentiment of the post was seemingly helpful and reflective, Chris resorted to less than pleasant comments toward fans in the comments, even throwing shade at Virginia and Erik's divorce after season twelve of MAFS. Chris also mocked fans of the series, and he also went out of his way to describe Paige, his former wife, as not “a good woman,” a comment certain to spark uproar.

As MAFS moves forward, Chris’ legacy is certain to follow. The series is known for its updates on previous couples and the show is certain to continue this dramatic storyline, returning to the infamous pairing. While the season has come to an end, Chris and Paige’s drama is far from over, with social media playing a role in fueling the anger amongst both fans and cast members alike. Despite Chris’ own advice to “enjoy this moment” and stay far from fan theories and comments, he continues to ignore his own wisdom, and the Married at First Sight community has already taken his words to heart.
