Danielle's love story on the popular dating series wasn't an outlier, as she and her match struggled to make their marriage work but ended up getting divorced after Married At First Sight. Although Danielle did not stay with the husband she was paired with, the former television personality has continued to live her best life post-Married At First Sight.
Danielle made her reality TV debut on the Married At First Sight season 5 premiere on April 20, 2017. Danielle's season of the dating series highlighted hopeful romantics based in Chicago. At the time of her marriage, Danielle was a 30-year-old dietician. Married At First Sight's relationship experts paired Danielle with Cody Knapek, who was 26 years old and a gym owner. Danielle and Cody clicked due to their shared interest and experience in the health and fitness business. Unfortunately, the newlyweds didn't have much else in common. Danielle had more experience dating than Cody did, which made her more aware of the qualities she was and wasn't looking for in a husband. Despite their imperfect compatibility, Danielle and Cody chose to stay together on Married At First Sight's Decision Day.
Danielle agreed to fight to make her marriage with Cody work, but that didn't mean they were destined to last. After one year of marriage, Danielle and Cody announced that they were filing for divorce. On August 22, 2017, the former couple issued a statement to People, revealing that they were calling it quits. In their joint message, Danielle and Cody shared that they were disappointed that their marriage didn't work out, but they hadn't lost hope altogether. The statement read, "This process has only strengthened our belief that true love does exist!" In the season 5 reunion, Danielle had indicated that her marriage wasn't where she wanted it to be as she hadn't fallen in love with Cody yet. On the bright side, the divorces of other Married At First Sight matches have been much grittier.
Danielle returned to reality television for Married At First Sight: Where Are They Now? in April 2020. In the reunion special, Danielle revealed that she is was still single and searching for her forever person. Although her love life has been relatively stagnant, the ex-wife shared that she has changed her career goals since season 5. Danielle explained that on top of working as a dietitian, she is also a yoga instructor. Danielle said that she has "been really fortunate to get to lead some yoga retreats around the world, which has been a dream come true." Danielle was content to enjoy her dream job as she waited for the right partner to come along. In 2021, it seems as though Danielle is still waiting for Mr. Right. On Instagram, Danielle has 70,700 followers, but no posts featuring a significant other.
Danielle and Cody didn't end up staying together after Married At First Sight, but the optimistic alum hasn't lost hope. Since season 5, Danielle has continued to pursue her dreams of having a career and husband that she loves, even if she hasn't found him yet. Despite Danielle's disappointing Married At First Sight match, she is demonstrating that the end of her marriage isn't the end of her journey.
