The newlyweds of Married At Fight Sight season 16 are ready to enjoy each other's company and take their relationships to the next level, but while four couples are on a one-way ticket to Jamaica, Kirsten Grimes and Shaquille Dillon are stuck in the United States. Kirsten, 32, and Shaquille, 31, tied the knot alongside Jasmine Secrest and Airris Williams, Nicole Lilienthal and Christopher Thielk, Gina Micheletti and Clint Webb, and Domynique Kloss and Mackinley Gilbert. All ten individuals are different in various ways, but they share one big commonality: lack of experience or success when it comes to romance.

Although Kirsten and Shaquille are both passionate hard workers who may appear to be a good match on paper, Married At First Sight's Dr. Pepper Schwartz's latest arranged marriage has already shown some potential issues. Kirsten made it clear that she wasn't immediately attracted to Shaquille and refused to share a kiss, and while Shaquille attempted to shmooze Kirsten's family and friends at their reception, they clearly had doubts about him. Luckily, Kirsten and Shaquille appeared to let their guards down after their wedding. Unfortunately, the progress Kirsten and Shaquille made may already be in jeopardy after the couple was forced to honeymoon later than their MAFS season 16 costars.

Shaquille Made Prior Commitments Before MAFS Season 16

As previously mentioned, Kirsten and Shaquille are passionate about three things: their families, their shared religion, and their professional careers. Kirsten is a real estate agent and competitive cheerleading coach, while Shaquille is a Ph.D. candidate and executive director. While his degree is impressive, Shaquille didn't win over Kirsten or MAFS fans when he revealed that he never cleared his schedule. "You know, I'm still in school, and I have a research conference this weekend," Shaquille told his new bride Kirsten. "I have to travel to Jackson, Mississippi."

Kirsten Was Not Happy With Her MAFS Season 16 Husband

Understandably, Kirsten was not pleased with Shaquille's change of plans, especially when he made it clear that Kirsten was expected to accompany him to Jackson. "Are you serious right now?" Kirsten exclaimed. She bemoaned that while her MAFS costars would be at the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort and Spa in Jamaica, she would be alone in a random hotel room in Mississippi. Although MAFS frontrunners Nicole and Chris shared an instant connection on their wedding day, Kirsten made it equally clear she expected Shaquille to make things up to her when they finally landed in Jamaica.

Between their lack of affection and Kirsten's closed-off demeanor, Shaquille's inability to put their marriage before his job is a third strike that the couple may not be able to bounce back. Time will tell whether Kirsten and Shaquille's marriage will survive past Decision Day, but between Domynique and Mackinley's own awkward start and Airris' red flags, it's clear that they won't be the only ones to struggle. Hopefully, Dr. Pepper's latest arranged marriage on MAFS can overcome its initial obstacles.
