Married at First Sight season 16 has a lot in common with season 15. In fact, it’s almost like the storylines have been recycled. While the faces and the names have changed, there are numerous parallels between Married at First Sight Nashville and Married at First Sight San Diego that are giving viewers pause.

It is understandable that a show where the premise never changes would have similarities between seasons. However, the resemblances between the cast members and the plot lines between this season and the last are uncanny. The producers have been accused of manufacturing drama in the past, and even scripting certain aspects of the show. Married at First Sight should be less fake if it doesn’t want those accusations to continue. It's time to look at some examples.

30-Something MAFS Men Who Have Never Been In Love

It is unusual for a man to reach his late 30s and have never fallen in love. Yet the experts at Married at First Sight have managed to cast two such men, two seasons in a row. Married at First Sight season 15 featured Nate Barnes, whom the experts matched with Stacia Karcher. When the 37-year-old day trader told his entrepreneurial wife he had never experienced love, she immediately saw it as a huge red flag.

Married at First Sight season 16 repeated this saga almost verbatim with 39-year-old Airris Williams and his new bride, Jasmine Secrest. Nate and Stacia’s marriage quickly crumbled, so one would think that the Married at First Sight experts would not want to make that same mistake again. Apparently, they are not as red-flag savvy as Stacia and Jasmine.

Doggie Drama Emerges on MAFS Once Again

Whenever two strangers are matched and have to merge their lives, certain adjustments have to be made. Those adjustments often involve blending pets. Married at First Sight season 15 depicted major doggie drama between Justin and Alexis Mitchell. It could even be said that when Justin’s dog bit Alexis’s dog, the marriage was essentially over. On Married at First Sight season 16, the dogs are shaking things up again. When Jasmine told her new hubby, Airris, that she has four dogs and is breeding nine more, he looked like he had just been punched in the gut.

Furthermore, when Married at First Sight season 16 cast member Nicole Lilienthal found her husband, Christopher Thielk, having a meltdown and sobbing on the patio, it was revealed that his tears were due to not being able to bring both of his dogs to their new apartment. Nicole certainly handled the situation much more kindly than some might expect based on previous pet problems shown on Married at First Sight, but it was a repeated narrative nonetheless.

MAFS Husband Confuses Rudeness With Honesty

Married at First Sight season 16 cast member Clint Webb may not physically resemble season 15 cast member Mitch Silverstein. However, when it comes to personality flaws, the two men are practically twins. On the show, both Clint and Mitch failed to learn this life lesson. Each was matched with remarkable, confident women (Gina Micheletti and Krysten Collins, respectively) and should have been over the moon. However, Clint and Mitch are both so self-absorbed and critical of others that they cannot appreciate what is right in front of them. So far, it looks like the same debacle that played out between Mitch and Krysten is about to unfold between Clint and Gina.
