Airris Williams from Married at First Sight season 16 has been accused of being self-centered and contemptuous for a variety of reasons. It is not his fault if he is not attracted to his wife, Jasmine Secrest. After all, everyone has different tastes. However, his arrogant attitude and history as a player is not winning Airris many fans.

During their honeymoon, 39-year-old Airris told Jasmine that he has never been in love. This confession was as a major red flag to his wife, who admitted that she falls in love rather easily. Not only could she not fathom why someone his age had never experienced love, but the Married at First Sight season 16 star also felt added pressure because the chances that he would fall in love with her now seemed slim.

Airris Is Not a Married At First Sight Fan Favorite

A Reddit post by u/MaryCone1 called Airris a “dismissive & pompous, self-centred jerk.” Many MAFS fans agreed. Some are upset that Airris has admitted to treating women poorly in the past, and has never had a serious relationship. Airris “has no clue what a real deep connection with a woman is,” was one comment in the thread that stood out.

Others think Airris is being childish because Jasmine bruised his ego. One Reddit user commented, “Airris is behaving immaturely. When Jasmine didn’t respond the way he wanted to his ‘sexy talk’ in the first day or two of their relationship, he lost interest in her. Early on in the Nashville season of Married at First Sight, Airris told Jasmine how beautiful she was, and he seemed thrilled when she first walked down the aisle. Those feelings have apparently changed.

Airris & Jasmine’s Marriage Is On Shaky Ground

Fans who are upset with Airris are not blaming him for not being attracted to Jasmine, if that really is the truth. They are more troubled by the way he keeps her at arm’s length and won’t put in the work to try to build an attraction. In an episode of MAFS, Airris told Jasmine he had a more friendly vibe toward her than a romantic one. He had told the other husbands this in the previous episode, but up until that point, he had continued lying to Jasmine about his feelings toward her. Airris bragged about how attracted she is to him. This made Airris seem villainous and two-faced.

Airris also slept with a woman two weeks before he married Jasmine. As Jasmine admitted on the After Party show, she found out about the tryst when they were looking through each other’s phones, and she realized she knew the woman. Although the experts did not tell Airris he had been matched until the day after the encounter, he should have been in the mindset that he is about to be engaged. It is no wonder that many Married at First Sight fans think Airris' and Jasmine’s marriage is doomed. This season could end up topping last season for having the most unlikeable MAFS cast ever.
