Nichole Holmes of the hit show Marriage or Mortgage recently revealed that she turned down an opportunity to be featured in Playboy. She now co-hosts the adorably cute show that follows couples faced with the daunting decision of choosing between a house or a wedding. Although it may seem like a no-brainer for some, it is not so simple. However, couples are lucky to have co-hosts Nichole Holmes and Sarah Miller to guide them on this journey. Nichole, who is in charge of the real estate side recently opened up in an interview about saying no to Playboy.
Fans may be surprised to know that Nichole and Sarah, were not exactly friends before the shot Marriage or Mortgage. The duo said they ran in the same circles but had never pursued a friendship past their acquaintance relationship. Considering the chemistry, the two have it would be easy to mistake them as lifelong friends, but they had lives outside of each other before the show. Nichole was even Miss Illinois in 1995. She ran the beauty pageant circuit and modeled for a few years, that is, before she decided to get into real estate.
In 1995 when Nichole was Miss Illinois, she was offered to be the centerfold for Playboy magazine, as per her interview with S’more on their Instagram Live. Her parents agreed and said, “If that’s what you feel like you need to do to help your career then we understand and do it.” However, despite her parents' approval, Nichole said, “I still had three living grandparents at the time.” So she ended up turning it down. She laughed it off and commented that “Had I had a crystal ball and [seen] now you can have an amateur porn tape and make millions of dollars, I would have done it. At the time it was too taboo and I chose not to do it.”
Ultimately, she didn't miss out on anything, although she did try to haggle for Playmate of the Year. It’s hard to tell whether the magazine would have helped her career or hurt it, but many other reality stars have done Playboy, like Kim Kardashian and Aubrey O’Day. With Nichole’s rising popularity, perhaps she could potentially do the cover now if she wants to. Especially as Playboy’s direction has shifted in the past few years.
Nichole now has a great gig as the host for Marriage or Mortgage, and doing this reality TV show is going to open many doors for her. Her career can only go up from here, especially her real estate business, which will likely see a boom from all the free publicity she is gaining. Fans have so far loved this show because of the adorable couples like Raven and Antonio, and Braxton and Emily. Viewers can't wait to see what's next.
