There are six gear sets in Mario Strikers: Battle League, and they can be used to alter character stats. Every character starts with a base stat for Strength, Speed, Shooting, Passing, and Technique, but gear sets can be used to increase these stats. However, all armor pieces have a positive effect on one stat and a negative effect on another. Gear needs to be purchased, so players should make sure they buy the best armor for each character.

Since gear needs to be purchased at the shop, players will need to start earning coins right away. Quick Battles and Online Quick Battles will only award 10 or 20 coins if the match is won. However, there are a methods that are more effective for getting coins. Completing the tutorial, as well as Cup Battles and Galactic Cup Battles are the best ways to farm for coins in Mario Strikers: Battle League.

Optimizing character stats with the best possible gear is essential for completing difficult challenges like the Galactic Cup Battles.

The Bushido Gear Set can be used to greatly increase stats for characters in Mario Strikers: Battle League. The set can be unlocked by winning all Cup Battles on normal difficulty. Once unlocked, the Bushido Gear Set can be purchased in the shop like the other gear sets, but each armor piece costs 300 coins. No other gear sets are unlockable currently, but future updates could include additional armor.
