Margot Robbie is one of Hollywood's biggest stars, often praised for her depth and range in both comedy and dramatic films - and her upcoming movies will continue to showcase her talent. The Australian actress began her career with roles in television series such as Neighbours and independent films like the thriller I.C.U. Her first feature film role was in 2013's About Time which starred Rachel McAdams and Domhnall Gleason. That same year, Robbie had her breakout role in The Wolf of Wall Streetreceiving critical acclaim for her work alongside Leonardo DiCaprio.

From there, Robbie went on to portray Jane Porter in The Legend of Tarzan and entered the DC Extended Universe franchise as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad - a performance that critics attributed to the film's success. She later reprised that role and served as a producer in Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) in 2020 and now in the recent standalone sequel, The Suicide Squad. Robbie has also received critical acclaim for her work in I, Tonya as the disgraced figure skater, Queen Elizabeth I in the Mary Queen of Scots period drama, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood as the late actress Sharon Tate, and a fictional Fox news employee in Bombshell.

Robbie joins an impressive ensemble cast, including Christian Bale, John David Washington, Rami Malek, Zoe Saldana, Robert De Niro, and Anya Taylor-Joy. Jennifer Lawrence was once considered for Robbie's part, and Michael B. Jordan had originally signed on but had to drop out after pandemic-related production delays created scheduling conflicts, causing Washington to take his place. In June, it was announced that Taylor Swift was also involved with the movie. An official title is still unknown, though some have said that the film is referred to as "Amsterdam" internally [via Collider].

Gotham City Sirens

Harley Quinn Margot Robbie

Although Robbie is attached as a cast member and producer for David Ayer's Gotham City Sirens, the film may or may not be happening and appears to be stuck in development limbo. The movie would be an adaptation of the DC Comics series of the same name which focuses on three female villains: Harley Quinn, Catwoman and Poison Ivy. However, Ayer stated last year that the film was still "on pause." Furthermore, Margot Robbie also mentioned that she was seeking a break from playing the crazed character yet again. The actress told Entertainment Weekly that being Harley Quinn is "exhausting," also adding, "I don't know when we're next going to see her." At least Robbie has some other new roles and projects lined up now.
