Supernatural drama series Manifest has been renewed for season 3 by NBC. Created by Jeff Rake, the series premiered in 2018 and centers on the passengers and crew of a commercial airliner who all reappear after being presumed dead for more than five years. It stars Melissa Roxburgh, Josh Dallas, Athena Karkanis, J. R. Ramirez, Luna Blaise, Jack Messina, Parveen Kaur, and Matt Long.

NBC announced the Manifest season 3 renewal, but did not give a window for when it may return. Manifest has been a fluctuating performer for the network and has averaged a 1.5 rating in adults 18-49 and 7.7 million viewers with seven days of delayed viewing, according to Nielsen reporting. The series has also, according to the network, improved NBC's Monday 10 p.m. slot from the previous year.

Manifest, which was pitched as a six-season serial by Rake, showed promise early on. An additional three episodes were ordered for the first season one month after the premiere, bringing the total to 16. Season 1 aired between January and April of 2020, with 13 episodes all performing well. Manifest is one of the few to not be impacted by the pandemic, but a release date for season 3 has not been confirmed.

The network is still finalizing decisions on other properties and is yet to announce its full fall schedule. It's unclear if the network will extend precautions brought on by the pandemic for its schedule (like Fox and The CW) with material previously filmed or if it will return to normal production (like CBS) with the expectation of heightened health and safety practices.
