Thanks to the Manifest season 4 trailer, TJ’s return to the show has finally been confirmed. Played by Garret Wareing, TJ Morrison served as a key ally to Ben and the others in season 2. However, the character had no presence whatsoever in season 3, which only featured scant references to the character.

The release of the full trailer for Manifest season 4 shed some insight into the aftermath of the shocking season 3 finale, which disrupted the status quo for so many people. After season 3, Grace is dead and Cal is somehow five years older. The trailer avoided explaining what happened to Cal, but did tease some huge revelations regarding a “divine consciousness”, which supposedly chose each passenger to be on Flight 828. Plus, footage in the trailer reveals that several characters will be back, presumably to help Ben, Michaela, Vance, and Saanvi investigate the Callings. Troy, Adrian, Eagan, Drea, and TJ were all spotted in the trailer.

Season 4’s most noteworthy returning character is TJ, who missed out on all of season 3. He left the show in Manifest season 2’s penultimate episode, “Call Sign”. He explained that he had applied for a grant to attend a university in Egypt. He told Olive that his plan is to use his time there to understand what Al-Zuras’ journal really means. And while he hasn’t been around to provide any help in person, he’s apparently remained in touch with the main characters. This was evidenced by season 3’s “Wingman”, which revealed that he sent over an Egyptian papyrus linked to the Callings.

What TJ’s Story In Manifest Season 4 Could Be

Since Manifest season 4 will kick off with a two-year time skip, it’s possible that TJ has spent enough time in Egypt to learn the answers to several of their questions about Al-Zuras. At this point in the series, there’s still much they don’t know about him, such as what he did about the Lifeboat situation, whether or not he survived the Death Date, and what ultimately happened to both him and his crew. If TJ comes back with these details, TJ can help the show revisit the Al-Zuras mystery in a meaningful way and lay the groundwork for a major breakthrough related to the Callings.

TJ returning and playing a major role in the show’s remaining episodes would fit in well with how he was used in season 2. Not only that, but it only makes sense for him to be involved in the final season. During his season 2 exit, he reaffirmed his commitment to beating the Death Date and getting to the bottom of Manifest’s mysteries, which is all the more reason why all of the remaining passengers should be on hand when June 2, 2024 rolls around. Considering how important he had become to the main characters’ efforts to uncover answers, his absence in season 3 was striking, but TJ still has a chance to make an impact on the ending.
