There have been few shows lucky enough to be revived by Netflix in recent years, but it looks like NBC’s Manifest may be one of those series given new life after cancellation. The missing plane drama debuted on Netflix last week and NBC’s decision to cancel the series after three seasons followed soon after. Despite the fact that the third season ended on a cliffhanger that may never get answered, Manifest quickly rose to the top of the Netflix charts.

The supernatural drama series premiered in 2018, focusing on the passengers of Flight 828 who suddenly reappear after being presumed dead for more than five years. However, despite the overwhelming shock for their grieving friends and families, it’s as if no time passed at all for those on the flight from Jamaica to New York City. Even more mysterious, the passengers begin to experience voices and visions of events that have yet to occur. Creator Jeff Rake sold the series to NBC with six seasons mapped out, leaving an unfortunate mess of unanswered questions with its third season cancellation. Yet, the television producer has maintained hope that the series will get picked up by another platform.

According to Deadline, hope for Manifest may exist in the form of Netflix as efforts are being made to move the series to the streaming platform. The drama pulled impressive numbers in its first week on Netflix, debuting in the #3 spot and quickly maintaining a first place status. According to reports, conversations are occurring between Warner Bros. TV and Netflix in regard to the viability and financials of the series.

The model of the Netflix revival is rare, but it has been proven to work in some cases, such as with Fox’s Lucifer, which became a hit on Netflix as an original series. Notably, Lucifer is also produced by WBTV. Other fan-favorites have also come back using Netflix as the platform of choice to do so, including Arrested Development, Fuller House, and Gilmore Girls. For now, if Netflix is waiting for signs of public demand, the Twitter hashtag, #savemanifest, has been a pretty popular indicator that viewers want to know what happened on Flight 828.

While there seems to be a glimmer of hope for Manifest, it’s too soon to say whether any other recently cancelled NBC favorites such as Debris and Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist have any chance of seeing their stories through. Until Netflix decides to give their own answer about a Manifest revival, fans can use the time to mull over the insane amounts of theories and clues that have supposedly set the way for an ending that may never get to be seen.
