Maneater is one of those experiences that could only work as a video game, and it's basically the inverse of Jaws. Players take control of a massive Great White Shark, trying to take revenge on the hunter that killed its mother. Despite the grim setup, Maneater isn't a game that takes itself too seriously.

Maneater is hilariously over-the-top in every way, from the bone armor that players can equip their shark with, to the ridiculous TV show that the story is based on. The entire experience is highlighted by a narrator, and the voice might sound a bit familiar to players.

There's a good reason for that, as the narrator in Maneater is a widely known voice actor who's played roles in multiple big animated shows. Here's who the narrator is in Maneater.

Maneater's Narrator and What He's Done

Chris Parnell voices the narrator in Maneater, and players might immediately recognize him as the voice of Jerry in Rick & Morty, Dr. Leo Spaceman in 30 Rock, or as Cyril Figgis in Archer. Parnell is a storied actor, starring in films like Anchorman, 21 Jumpstreet, Hot Rod, and more. In addition to all those roles, Parnell was also a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1998 to 2006.

Maneater is the first video game that Parnell has ever lent his voice to, and the role uses his typical comedic style. The actor recorded a ton of lines for the game, and besides narrating the story he'll even give players some useful info on the local flora and fauna.

Maneater is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. A Nintendo Switch release is planned sometime in the future.
