A fan-made The Mandalorian season 2 video compiles all the adorable baby sounds Grogu made throughout the year. Disney+'s Star Wars live-action series continued Din Djarin and Baby Yoda's adventure in 2020 with eight new episodes that chronicled Mand0's quest to reunite the Child with the Jedi. Partway into the season, Baby Yoda's real name was revealed to be Grogu.

Ever since Baby Yoda was revealed at the end of The Mandalorian premiere, the young creature has become the focus of the show's narrative. His existence mainly drove Din's story, resulting in a significantly different show than what it was initially believed to be. For starters, instead of the narrative being centered on Mando's adventures as a bounty hunter, the series barely tackled this aspect, as the titular character almost abandoned his career and devoted himself to caring for the mysterious Force-sensitive child. The Mandalorian season 2 continued this trend as more information about the 50-year-old infant was revealed, including a part of his origins and real name.

As Baby Yoda grew during this time, he also became more expressive in varying ways. On top of making facial expressions, he was vocally active as well, as proven by a couple of clips from Twitter user @djarinsoka, who compiled all of the cute noises he made throughout The Mandalorian season 2. Check them out below:

Noticeably, Grogu has become more vocal once Ahsoka Tano revealed his real name and Din occasionally used it. Following Mando's first time calling him by his name, his ears would perk up and make slightly louder noises. Perhaps it's an attempt to communicate with the people around him, especially since this would more likely be the first time he was called by his real name following his escape from Order 66 on Coruscant during the time of the prequels. Not much is known about his species as Star Wars has only ever shown two others of his race - Yoda and Yaddle - and it's uncertain if The Mandalorian will ever tackle this moving forward. But at this point in the show's storytelling, they can totally skip this and focus on Grogu's arc as a Jedi instead.

Admittedly, Baby Yoda's involvement in The Mandalorian season 2 is less exciting than the show's first year. He didn't use the Force as much as he did, mainly only tapping into it for smaller actions like catching the shiny knob from the Razor Crest that he loves so much, not to mention stealing cookies from his Nevarro school seatmate. Instead, the show highlighted the idea that he is a growing kid, emphasizing his personality, which was quite fun to watch, especially as he bonded with Mando. It's curious if The Mandalorian will ever show him fully speak as Jedi Master Yoda did, but as Baby Yoda's separated from Din to train with Luke Skywalker, it might take a while before the series puts a significant focus on Grogu again.
