If The Mandalorian's theme song had lyrics, it would probably point out the many Western tropes found within the show. At least, that's what a new video suggests. In 2019, The Mandalorian became the first live-action Star Wars show to debut on Disney+. Much of the series was kept a secret before its premiere, save for the simple fact that it focused on a lone bounty hunter (Pedro Pascal) as he traveled the galaxy completing odd jobs. However, The Mandalorian's first episode contained a major surprise: A child from Yoda's species who, for some reason, was sought by many dangerous people. With its secret weapon on hand (Baby Yoda), The Mandalorian became a cultural phenomenon.

Fast-forward to now, and The Mandalorian season 2 has just come to an end this past weekend. The season primarily focused on Mando's efforts in finding a Jedi who could train Baby Yoda (whose real name, Grogu, was revealed in the fifth episode). Along the way, audiences were treated to a slew of major Star Wars characters making cameo appearances, from Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison, now the star of his own show) to Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson, also now the star of her own show). Days later, as fans continue to grapple with the jaw-dropping twists of the season 2 finale, The Mandalorian still dominates the internet.

Comedy group The Warp Zone took Ludwig Göransson's excellent Mandalorian theme and added lyrics to it in this funny new video. Much of the revised theme is spent pointing out the many Western tropes found within the show, from how Mando often imitates Clint Eastwood to the way one season 1 episode follows the plot of Seven Samurai. In case fans weren't aware The Mandalorian is essentially a Star Wars Western, this video will set them straight. Check it out below.

The Mandalorian theme parody also takes playful shots at major plot points from season 2, like Baby Yoda's controversial egg eating in episode 2. It also points out some major connections The Mandalorian has to its obvious inspirations, like Apollo 13 director Ron Howard and his daughter Bryce Dallas Howard, who directed two episodes. Based on this video alone, The Mandalorian clearly thrives when it is acting as an homage to something.

Truthfully, the remade theme is really catchy. It helps that Göransson's score is a vibrant piece of music; it even contributed to The Mandalorian's seven Emmy wins earlier this year, as Göransson won Outstanding Music Composition for a Series. One might be apprehensive about making lyrics work with The Mandalorian's distinctive sound, but this video definitely succeeded. Just try getting it out of your head.
