Baby Yoda could give Yaddle a route into The Mandalorian season 2. Before the human race was subjected to the abomination that is 2020, the final months of 2019 provided a ray of hope; a figure that brought together warring factions in universal admiration. That fateful savior is, of course, Baby Yoda. Rescued by Din Djarin from the clutches of the Empire, there remain many mysteries surrounding Baby Yoda's existence. Kuiil suggests that the youngster isn't a clone, so then where did Baby Yoda come from, and who arranged for him to be so heavily protected? More to the point, how did the empire come to know about the lovable, green frog-muncher in the first place?

The Mandalorian season 2 is primed to answer at least some of these queries. After defeating Moff Gideon, Djarin resolves to seek out Baby Yoda's own people, so the youngster might live a peaceful life on his own planet. Star Wars has revealed precious little about Yoda's species in its illustrious canon, not even proffering a name or planet of origin. Aside from Yoda and Baby Yoda, the only other character of their kind is Yaddle, who appeared on the Jedi council in The Phantom Menace. After Yoda's death in the original trilogy, Yaddle is now the only one who might still be alive.

Yaddle's fate in the Star Wars universe is unknown. Stepping away from the Jedi prior to the Clone Wars, Yaddle wouldn't have been directly in the firing line when Order 66 was executed, but the Empire likely pursued her simply by virtue of being a powerful Force user. With no confirmation either way, it's certainly possible Yaddle is still alive during The Mandalorian. As for where Yaddle could be, there are two main possibilities.

After taking her leave from the Jedi council, Yaddle might've returned to her and Yoda's home world. If such a place still exists, it was probably where Baby Yoda was born, and the pointy-eared inhabitants could be eagerly awaiting his return. If Din Djarin finds this mysterious unknown planet by the season finale of The Mandalorian season 2, who better to greet the returning hero than Yaddle. Not only would she provide another connection to wider Star Wars lore, but Yaddle's time in the Jedi would make her an ideal mentor to help Baby Yoda control his powerful abilities. Yoda's species are obviously a secretive, reclusive bunch, but Yaddle could provide a liaison between Djarin and her people.

Since Yoda's planet of origin has never been revealed, much less seen, it's entirely plausible that he and Yaddle were among the last of their kind, leaving Yaddle with no fixed address if she's still alive. This might mean Yaddle is actively hunting for Baby Yoda in The Mandalorian season 2. She could even be the one responsible for hiding him on Arvala-7 in the first place, and has been desperately searching the galaxy for clues ever since Din took him. In this scenario, Mando and Yaddle could begin as enemies, before ultimately coming to realize that they both care deeply about the little green meme machine.

Less likely, but still very much a possibility, is that Baby Yoda is the offspring of Yoda and Yaddle. You know how it goes. Making eyes at each other from opposite sides of the Jedi council, next thing she's coming over to your hut on Dagobah for "rootleaf stew and chill." So far, nothing has suggested Baby Yoda is directly related to Adult Yoda, other than the fact only one male, one female and one child of the species have been shown. But despite his youthful looks, Baby Yoda is confirmed to be 50 years-old, so the timeline easily checks out. Even though Jedi are sworn against personal attachments, they aren't necessarily celibate, and that's assuming Yoda's species reproduce in such a way. If Yaddle was Baby Yoda's mother, it'd only be natural to include her in The Mandalorian's future.
