The Mandalorian season 3 trailer teases more adventures with Grogu and a lot more Mandalorians. The show stars Pedro Pascal as the titular character, with a massive line-up of actors filling in various roles throughout the show, including Carl Weathers, Taika Waititi, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Ming-Na Wen, Bill Burr, Mark Hamill, and many more. Dave Filoni (The Clone Wars, Ahsoka) serves as producer on the series, alongside Kathleen Kennedy.

Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian has had two seasons thus far, as well as a lengthy appearance in The Book of Boba Fett, leading to the continuation of his journey in The Mandalorian season 3. The Mandalorian season 2 debuted in 2020, leaving a long gap between seasons, due largely to the pandemic stalling production and leaving room for Boba Fett's solo series to debut. In the Fett series, The Mandalorian appeared in the last few episodes, which also continued the story of Grogu, who eventually returned to Din Djarin, rather than becoming a Jedi under Luke Skywalker.
