A new The Mandalorian season 2 trailer is officially released online. After becoming a breakout hit on Disney+ last fall, the live-action Star Wars TV show is gearing up for its return later this month, with the first new episode premiering on October 30. In the build-up to The Mandalorian season 2's release, Lucasfilm has been busy revving up their promotional efforts, releasing new still images and multiple posters containing Star Wars Easter eggs to dissect. With no new Star Wars movie coming out this year, audiences are very excited to see The Mandalorian come back.

With The Mandalorian season 2 premiere right around the corner, Lucasfilm is continuing to tease audiences with new footage, revealing connections to the larger Star Wars universe (a return to Tatooine) and returning supporting characters. In typical Star Wars fashion, these looks at The Mandalorian are able to intrigue viewers without spoiling key story details. With just over a week until the show hits Disney+, another special preview has been shared.

During the Monday Night Football broadcast tonight, Lucasfilm released a new look at The Mandalorian season 2. Watch it for yourself in the space below:

This special look at The Mandalorian season 2 is brief (running only a minute), and it doesn't reveal much more than viewers already know. The promo essentially outlines the plot of the upcoming season, as Din Djarin is tasked with reuniting Baby Yoda with his kind. That means he'll be on a mission to find the Jedi, who have a rather tumultuous history with the Mandalorians. Din recruits the help of his allies Greef Karga and Cara Dune, putting them in the crosshairs of the Empire (who want Baby Yoda for their own devious purposes). Additional story details are being kept under wraps down this homestretch before the premiere, but the trailer does offer exciting teases of classic Star Wars action audiences can expect. Even though the show is made for television, it still sports a cinematic quality in line with the franchise's big screen offerings.

It's noteworthy the pre-release Mandalorian season 2 promotional campaign is focusing almost solely on Din and Baby Yoda, who are the heart and soul of the series. With legacy Star Wars characters such as Ahsoka Tano and Boba Fett reportedly joining the cast this time around, it would have been easy for Lucasfilm to use those familiar faces as a crutch to drum up even more excitement for the show's return. Smartly, they know Din and Baby Yoda are a dynamic duo capable of selling season 2 all on their own, keeping the bigger connections to the Star Wars universe as a surprise for when the actual episodes come out. It also helps quell any fears audiences might have had about The Mandalorian season 2 losing sight of what made it so successful in the first place.
