Concept art for The Mandalorian season 2 shows a sneak peek of Michael Biehn's new characterThe Mandalorian is arguably Disney+'s biggest hit so far, and has been since its premiere last November. The Star Wars live-action series centers on the titular bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) as he travels the galaxy in the aftermath of the Empire's fall. Fans were delighted and surprised to discover the real focal point of the series is Baby Yoda (or The Child), and that the Mandalorian's true mission is to keep him safe. The Mandalorian was received positively by critics and fans, and anticipation is high for season 2.

The past week or so has seen a flurry of exciting casting news. Rosario Dawson has been tapped for a guest-starring role that is largely expected to be Ahsoka Tano, and Biehn has been cast as a new bounty hunter. Specific plot details for the season are scarce, but fans expect to see the continued adventures of the Mandalorian and Baby Yoda as they try to evade the mysterious Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito). Disney has confirmed season 2 of The Mandalorian will arrive on Disney+ in October.

Now fans have gotten a small teaser of what's to come in the form of concept art shared by Making Star WarsThe art shows the first look at the design for Biehn's bounty hunter, which manages to differentiate from the Mandalorian's own armor while still looking distinctly Star Wars-esque. Check it out below:

Reportedly, Biehn's bounty hunter has a shared past with the Mandalorian. Whether he's a friend or foe has yet to be revealed, but his presence could still shed more light on Din's past. Throughout season 1, fans got some hints about Din's backstory, which culminated in a flashback showing how he joined the Mandalorians. It will be interesting to see how Biehn's character interacts with Din, and his initial design indicates he'll be a formidable warrior, regardless of which side he falls on.

The first season of The Mandalorian was praised for how it expanded the Star Wars universe, and hopefully season 2 will continue to do so. With Din and Baby Yoda setting off to find a new home for the powerful child, it can be assumed the series will travel to new worlds and meet a colorful cast of new characters. Fans are certainly excited to see how Biehn's character will fit into the series, though they'll have to wait until the fall to see him in action.
