The Mandalorian season 2, episode 2, "The Passenger" has a new Star Wars character who's simply called Frog Lady, and the voice actor who plays her has a long history in the franchise. One of the best things about The Mandalorian is that it's exploring the galaxy, giving viewers - and especially old fans - new worlds, cultures, characters, and aliens to learn about. This was true of The Mandalorian season 1 and, while the previous episode returned to Tatooine, it's also true of The Mandalorian season 2.

Looking for other Mandalorians on Tatooine was a bust for Din Djarin, because the person he found, Cobb Vanth aka the Marshal, wasn't a Mandalorian at all. Furthermore, the Mandalorian armor Cobb was wearing belonged to Boba Fett, who also isn't a Mandalorian. Now Mando hears there are Mandalorians on the moon of Trask in the same system as Kol Iben, but as payment for that information, he agrees to transport a Frog character currently named Frog Lady there so she can reunite with her husband and rebuild their lives.

Frog Lady may seem like a temporary name, but it's unlikely there will be too much development into the character going forward; she's one of a few people who appear only to be along for the ride in Mando's journey. But in The Mandalorian season 2, episode 2, she had a lot going on, and bringing her to life required two people: Misty Rosas and Dee Bradley Baker. Rosas physically played Frog Lady in The Mandalorian while Bradley Baker provided his voice for the character.

The Mandalorian Frog Lady

Rosas previous played Kuiil - a character voiced by Nick Nolte - in The Mandalorian season 1 and has returned in yet another alien role as Frog Lady in season 2. Since her face hasn't been shown on-screen, she's the perfect candidate to routinely bring various alien characters to life over and over again. And then there's Bradley Baker, who's most well-known for voicing Captain Rex, Commander Cody, and the rest of the clone troopers in the Clone Wars animated series, as well as various characters in Star Wars Rebels. But it seems he's borrowed elements from some other roles in which he's voiced animals for his part as Frog Lady in The Mandalorian season 2.

The Mandalorian season 2 is just getting started, so there are bound to be countless more aliens and creatures in the future, with some potentially even being played by Rosas and voiced by Bradley Baker. Since one can either wear a suit or perform motion-capture for aliens and the other can provide the voice for those aliens, Rosas and Bradley Baker might be a perfect match for The Mandalorian and the show's future aliens.
