iZombie actor Rahul Kohli accidentally sparks rumors he's playing Ezra Bridger on The Mandalorian. The hit Star Wars TV show is returning for season 2 this October, with Lucasfilm recently releasing Mandalorian season 2 trailer to generate hype. While the dynamic duo of Din Djarin and Baby Yoda are the primary focus in marketing, those who have been following The Mandalorian's development know season 2 is set to bring in some familiar faces, including Ahsoka Tano and Boba Fett.

Though those high-profile inclusions haven't been officially confirmed, the reports led viewers to speculate about what other established characters could appear on The Mandalorian. One such possibility is Ezra Bridger, protagonist of the animated series Star Wars Rebels. When audiences last saw Ezra, he was flying off into hyperspace with Grand Admiral Thrawn on a purrgil - his fate left unresolved. Those hoping to see Ezra in live-action took great interest in some of Kohli's recent tweets.

Kohli caught the attention of Star Wars fans when he tweeted he was in "that Lothal orphan, force sensitive, trained by Kanan Jarrus kind of shape." There was also another post where Kohli told his followers to watch The Mandalorian in October. These two tweets caused viewers to theorize Kohli was in fact playing Ezra on the show, but the actor swears he was only kidding. That said, his video debunking any rumors has the Mandalorian soundtrack playing in the background:

As evidenced by Baby Yoda's debut in season 1, The Mandalorian is no stranger to hitting audiences with unexpected twists and turns. So, it wouldn't be a stretch for Ezra to be a surprise addition to the cast when season 2 begins. In Rebels, Ahsoka went off with Sabine Wren on a journey to find Ezra. If Ahsoka is going to be on The Mandalorian, then there could be some resolution to that storyline, which viewers have wondered about for years. It would arguably be strange if the Rebels ending wasn't addressed at all. Executed properly, learning what happened to Ezra could be a great moment, though it would run the risk of overshadowing the core story at hand. The Mandalorian season 2 trailer did a great job of quelling fears about the new season, but it remains to be seen how the actual episodes play out.

There's a chance Kohli is trying to cover up something he wasn't supposed to reveal (actors have spoiled projects in the past) and his earlier tweet was a very specific description of Ezra's character. However, for the time being, it'd be best for viewers to not read too much into this and don't get their hopes up Ezra will be on The Mandalorian. With all of the new characters and actors on The Mandalorian that were reported earlier in the year, it's probable Kohli's involvement would have been known by now. Fortunately, audiences don't have that much longer to wait for The Mandalorian to return and find out for sure.
