The Mandalorian season 2 finale, episode 8, titled "Chapter 16: The Rescue" brings back a lot of familiar characters throughout the year, but it also features a surprise appearance from a Star Wars legacy player. Following Baby Yoda's abduction, Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) plots his rescue from Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito). Fortunately, he has a team to help him with his endeavor.
With the location of Moff Gideon's secured, Din seeks out the help of his allies to save Baby Yoda. They succeeded in their mission, but that doesn't mean that Mando and Grogu are going to move forward with a new adventure just as they did in The Mandalorian season 1 finale. As it turns out, their trip to Tython did tip-off other existing Jedi, resulting in one ultimately finding him.
Directed by Peyton Reed and written by Jon Favreau, "The Rescue" is a perfect mix of action-packed and emotional moments. Here's every character and cameo in The Mandalorian season 2 finale.

Pedro Pascal As Din Djarin/Mandalorian
Playing The Mandalorian's titular character Din Djarin is Pedro Pascal. Best known for his roles on Game of Thrones and Narcos, Pascal's next big project will be in Wonder Woman 1984.
Omid Abtahi As Dr. Pershing
Previously returning in The Mandalorian season 2 through a holo-message, Omid Abtahi properly comes back as Dr. Pershing in The Mandalorian season 2 finale. He's appeared in American Gods and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.
Temuera Morrison As Boba Fett
Staying true to his word, Boba Fett aids Mando in his rescue of Baby Yoda. Played by Temuera Morrison, The Mandalorian season 2 finale sets up Boba Fett spin-0ff via a post-credits scene in Jabba's Palace. The actor plays Arthur Curry's father, Thomas in Aquaman.
Gina Carano As Cara Dune
Gina Carano continues to transition to Hollywood from her MMA career by playing ex-Shock Rebel trooper-turned-Marshal in The Mandalorian. Her other credits include Deadpool, Fast & Furious 6, and Haywire.
Mercedes Varnado As Koska Reeves
Initially denying that she's in more The Mandalorian season 2 episodes, Mercedes Varnado reprises her role as Koska Reeves in "The Rescue." The newbie actress is more popularly known as her WWE persona, Sasha Banks.
Katee Sackhoff As Bo-Katan Kryze
After voicing Bo-Katan Kryze in a couple of Star Wars animated shows, Katee Sackhoff debuted the characters on live-action on The Mandalorian season 2, and returns in the finale with Varnado's Koska. She's best known for playing Kara "Starbuck" Thrace in Battlestar Galactica.
Ming-Na Wen As Fennec Shand
Boba Fett's assistant, Fennec Shand returns in The Mandalorian season 2 to help Mando retrieve Grogu. Portrayed by Ming-Na Wen, the actress is no stranger to Disney previously appearing in Mulan and Agents of SHIELD.
Giancarlo Esposito As Moff Gideon
Giancarlo Esposito's Moff Gideon finally gets in action in The Mandalorian season 2 finale, fighting Din who came after him following the abduction of Baby Yoda on Tython. Esposito appeared on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
Mark Hamill As Luke Skywalker
The surprise character for The Mandalorian season 2 is Mark Hamill who reprises Luke Skywalker, albeit a young one. Aside from Star Wars, he also voiced the Joker in the Batman: The Animated Series. In the end, Luke takes Grogu to train.

Gabriel Ebert as Gunnery Officer - Returning to play another Gunnery Officer is Gabriel Ebert. He's appeared in The Good Fight and Blacklist.
Katy O'Brian as Comms Officer - Katy O'Brian reprises her role as the Comms officer in The Mandalorian season 2 finale. She's been in Black Lightning and Westworld.
Max Lloyd Jones as Double for Jedi - Max Lloyd James is double for the young Luke Skywalker. He was also in Planet in the Apes.
Matthew Wood as Bib Fortuna - Portraying Bib Fortuna in The Mandalorian stinger is Matthew Wood. He's also involved in Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars Resistance.
