Disney's The Mandalorian season 2 reportedly casts Michael Biehn as another bounty hunter, with Bill Burr set to return as well. Even before the Jon Favreau-created Star Wars series launched its first season on Disney+ in late 2019, Lucasfilm and Disney had already begun filming The Mandalorian season 2. This proved to be a smart move as The Mandalorian was instantly a hit and ended its first season with plenty of intriguing set up for more stories following Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and The Child aka Baby Yoda.

The production of The Mandalorian's second season might not be a secret, but Favreau has managed to keep many details about what happens next under wraps until recently. It has been revealed that Rosario Dawson will play Ahsoka Tano, as the Star Wars: The Clone Wars character makes her live-action debut. To this point, she is one of the only new additions to the cast, which will see the returns of Gina Carano as Cara Dune, Carl Weathers as Greef Karga, and Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon. However, now we might know another one of the new faces set to appear.

According to Making Star Wars, Michael Biehn has joined the cast of The Mandalorian season 2. The identity of his character has not been revealed, but he is reportedly another bounty hunter who has a history with Din. In addition to Biehn, the site also shared Bill Burr will reprise his role as Mayfield in season 2. Burr appeared in the sixth episode of season 1 and was left locked in a prison with other bounty hunters.

The Mandalorian Bill Burr

With Biehn joining the cast, The Mandalorian now has a veteran actor who can be either an ally or foe to Mando in season 2. Biehn is likely best known from his work on now-classic sci-fi movies as Kyle Reese from The Terminator or Corporal Hicks from Aliens. He also has a history working with Robert Rodriguez on movies like Planet Terror and Grindhouse, so it is possible they've reteamed on Disney+ as Rodriguez reportedly directed an episode of the new season. Details on Biehn's role may be light, but he is an exciting addition to The Mandalorian nonetheless.

As for the return of Bill Burr, it will be fascinating to see if this means the other bounty hunters he was left with will also be back. Natalia Tena's Xi'an and Clancy Brown's Burg were left alive as well, so they could join Mayfield in his return if they all managed to escape. Even if Xi'an and Burg don't return, Mayfield and Biehn's mystery character add two more bounty hunters to The Mandalorian that could be in pursuit of Din once again. And that total could grow if Boba Fett makes his return to the galaxy far, far away as many fans want.
