The Mandalorian season 2 continues to depict Baby Yoda as a brat who just does whatever he wants, no matter the consequences. Since appearing in The Mandalorian series premiere, the creature has quickly become a fan-favorite thanks to his adorableness. But instead of directly leaning on it, The Mandalorian season 2 is challenging people's perception of the Child by making him do terrible things.

Not much is known about Baby Yoda thus far; it's one of the central mysteries of The Mandalorian. Coming from the same species as Yoda, the Child is also Force-sensitive and has been shown using it in various ways. While it was originally a bounty for him, Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) has taken the infant into his custody, refusing to hand it back to Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) and the Imperial remnants, afraid they would hurt him. The pair officially became a clan of two at the end of The Mandalorian season 1, with Mando's new mission being to reunite Baby Yoda with his people.

The Mandalorian season 2 has yet to really tackle the mystery of Baby Yoda thus far. While Din Djarin's mission revolves around the Child, the show is focusing on other stories. Instead, The Mandalorian is leaning towards making Baby Yoda more like a toddler, and in the past couple of weeks, he's been having a bratty phase. In The Mandalorian season 2, episode 2, "The Passenger," he snuck up on the Frog Lady's eggs and ate a bunch of them. Even when he was caught by Mando and was told to stop, he still went after them in every chance he got. Meanwhile, in The Mandalorian season 2, episode 4, "The Siege", he finally used the Force again. However, unlike previous instances where it was utilized for good purposes, it was simply for him to grab some cookies from another child in the Nevarro classroom.

Mandalorian Baby Yoda Eat Eggs

The egg-eating incident made for an interesting point of discussion for days after The Mandalorian episode aired, but instead of putting the blame on Baby Yoda, the public was mostly weirded out by the decision to make him do that in the first place. Regardless of whether or not him eating the frog eggs crossed the line, what's clear is people don't seem to take it against the Child because its behavior is common for toddlers.

Granted, Baby Yoda is only 50 years old, which is quite young for his species, and The Mandalorian seems to make a conscious effort in ensuring that he behaves like a typical kid. This is a good thing, as it establishes him as a living and breathing character with personality instead of a mascot. It also makes for more interesting interactions with Mando, who's learning how to parent the Child as they go along.

As The Mandalorian season 2 tackles its final four episodes, it's safe to assume that the show will start to explore Baby Yoda's mysteries, especially with the upcoming debut of Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson). From there, Din Djarin will finally learn more about the creature he's been taking care of for a while now, including how important it is and what else it can do with his ability to use the Force. It will also give him a better idea of what Moff Gideon really wants from the Child.
