This post contains spoilers for The Mandalorian season 2, episode 5 "Chapter 13: The Jedi"

Rosario Dawson celebrates Ahsoka Tano's live-action debut on The Mandalorian. After becoming a fan-favorite Star Wars character thanks to her roles on animated shows The Clone Wars and Rebels, there was much excitement about Ahsoka finally making the leap to live-action on The Mandalorian season 2. Dawson's casting as Ahsoka was reported back in March, and while her involvement in The Mandalorian was never officially confirmed by Disney or Lucasfilm, her arrival was one of the most anticipated developments of season 2.

In the aptly-titled episode, "The Jedi" (directed by Clone Wars and Rebels co-creator Dave Filoni), viewers finally got a chance to see live-action Ahsoka onscreen. It was definitely a big moment for longtime fans who have followed Ahsoka's journey for years, as well as Dawson herself. In the past, the actress made headlines for expressing her desire to play Ahsoka. Now that it's happened, Dawson is celebrating with the rest of The Mandalorian viewers.

Taking to Twitter, Dawson shared The Mandalorian's promo for the latest episode. Ahsoka isn't seen in the video, but Dawson reposting it and her message makes it clear she is hyping up Ahsoka's role in "The Jedi." Check it out in the space below:

Ahsoka was subject to substantial criticism and backlash when she first appeared on Clone Wars, but she's now considered one of the most popular Star Wars characters and is an important figure in the franchise. It's nice to see the negativity that initially surrounded Ahsoka's portrayal has dissipated, and Dawson's performance has already been well-received. When viewers first met Ahsoka back in 2008, few could have predicted she'd go on to have such a vital role in Star Wars canon, but it feels like "The Jedi" is only the beginning of live-action Ahsoka's arc, and viewers will be excited to see Dawson return at some point.

It will be interesting to see if Ahsoka comes back in The Mandalorian season 2, or if she's being saved for further down the line. At the end of "The Jedi," she turned down the opportunity to train Baby Yoda, out of concern of the youngster following the same path as Anakin Skywalker. Instead, Ahsoka pointed Din Djarin in the direction of Tython and resumed her mission of trying to find Grand Admiral Thrawn. With The Mandalorian season 3 starting production soon and a Mandalorian season 4 already in the works, there's no need to rush things with Ashoka (after all, Boba Fett hasn't been seen since season 2's first episode). There will be plenty of time to tell Ahsoka's story, but for now, Dawson can celebrate her Mandalorian guest spot.
