The recap drops major story hints ahead of The Mandalorian season 3. The final scenes remind viewers that Din Djarin is now considered an apostate by the Mandalorian sect he grew up in, because he chose to remove his mask in front of others. The Armorer offered Din Djarin a means of redemption, telling him he needs to go to the "living waters beneath the mines of Mandalore." Some have theorized this is a Mandalorian Force vergence, akin to the Dagobah cave in The Empire Strikes Back, and that Din will experience visions that commission him to accept the role of Mandalorian leader. This quest for redemption clearly lies at the heart of The Mandalorian season 3.
The recap spends surprisingly little time exploring the growing Imperial threat on the Outer Rim, perhaps hinting the focus will lie not on the Empire but on Mandalorian politics and in-fighting. It is a big galaxy, after all, so not every character needs to turn up.
