Who plays Paz Vizla under the armor in The Mandalorian? Throughout season 1, The Mandalorian has included a variety of actors from all genres in either guest-starring roles or cameos. Viewers might recognize the voice of Paz Vizla; however, audiences may be surprised to learn that the voice does not belong to the actor who played this Mandalorian under the armor.

In The Mandalorian season 1 episode 3, "The Sin," Mando (Pedro Pascal), later revealed as Din Djarin, heads down to the "Covert," the secret Mandalorian enclave, for new armor. Mando meets with the Armorer, played by Emily Swallow, who agrees to use the Beskar he received for turning in Baby Yoda to make new Mandalorian armor, as well as some projectile weapons called Whistling Birds. However, the camtono of Beskar draws the attention of other Mandalorians such as Paz Vizla. Paz reprimands Mando for working with former agents of the Empire since they're the reason why the Tribe hides underground. Before Paz can fight Mando, the Armorer steps in and diffuses the situation.

Under the armor, The Mandalorian's Paz Vizla is played by Tait Fletcher, a former MMA fighter. Fletcher famously got into a screaming match with his coach and MMA legend, Ken Shamrock, during the third season of The Ultimate Fighter. After retiring from fighting in 2008, Fletcher transitioned into acting and stunt work. Fletcher notably had a role in the final season of Breaking Bad as Lester, a member of Jack Welker's white supremacist gang who died in the series finale, "Felina." Fletcher has also made appearances as a "bad guy" who tries to kill the main protagonist in John WickThe Accountant, and The Equalizer.

Paz Vizla saluting Din Djarin in The Mandalorian

It's worth noting that although Fletcher plays Paz Vizla under the armor, the character is voiced by the series' creator, Jon Favreau. Similarily, Favreau voiced another Mandalorian warrior named Pre Vizsla in Star Wars: The Clone WarsThe spelling is different so Paz Vizla is not from the same family as Pre Vizsla, but the character in The Mandalorian is a sly reference to the character in The Clone Wars.

It's unclear if Paz Vizla will make an appearance in The Mandalorian season 2. At the end of "The Sin," after Din rescues Baby Yoda and is pinned down by Greef Karga and other bounty hunters, Paz Vizla and other Mandalorians unexpectedly arrive and gun down the bounty hunters, allowing Din to escape. The episode ends with Paz Vizla flying next to Din's ship as he salutes and flies away. With Mando on the run once again in The Mandalorian season 2, he might have to call upon Paz Vizla and the other Mandalorians for more help protecting Baby Yoda.
