It seems like it was pretty much a given that Disney+ was going to be a smash hit streaming service despite the fact that it's coming into the streaming world pretty late in the game. But in order to solidify itself as a legitimate threat to more established services like Netflix or Hulu, Disney+ had to come straight out of the gate with a smash hit series of it's own. Clearly The Mandalorian is that series.

The Mandalorian and his tiny green companion more affectionately known as baby Yoda have taken the fandom world by storm, so it's no surprise that a veritable Mandalorian meme factory popped up on the internet overnight. There is a lot of top notch Mandalorian meme-ing going on, but here are 10 of the best Mando memes that only fans who've seen the first season would understand.

We've All Been There

There are very few things that can be compared to the childhood highest of highs, getting surprise McDonald's. And there are also very few things that can compare to the childhood lowest of lows, being dragged within an inch of your life by one of your parents for being too poor to afford food that costs a dollar.

But that universal feeling of humiliation can't stop the inevitable resurgence of that need for fast food elation. And as we would all expect from the circle of life, the children who once begged for McDonald's will one day become the parents shaming their children for being broke as a joke.

Stealing The Show

It's pretty understandable that the producers and writers of The Mandalorian didn't want to spoil the epic twist that closes out the pilot episode of the show, however it's not wrong to point out that baby Yoda has essentially hijacked the series from Mando.

It's not fair that a puppet that can't even talk has upstaged the Mandalorian himself, but Disney clearly knew what it was doing when it created the cutest and most mysterious little kid in the entire galaxy. The world loves baby Yoda, and The Mandalorian has undeniably become the baby Yoda show...

A More Apropos Title

Baby Yoda was such a masterful stroke on the part of The Mandalorian for so many reasons. The most obvious one is that he is the cutest creature in the history of modern fiction. But what also makes him brilliant is that he essentially sits there and reacts to the action, so it's even easier for the whole audience to relate to him.

It's more than fair to say that baby Yoda has completely overtaken the narrative and upstaged pretty much everything else in the series, so even if The Mandalorian isn't titled The Baby Yoda Chronicles it's certainly that in spirit.

Holiest of Holy

Even the pope would have to admit the preciousness and irresistibility of the baby Yoda. It's obviously a stretch to say that baby Yoda is a god, but a demigod seems appropriate at least.

I mean, he has special powers, he can control the world with his thoughts, and everyone living in the real world didn't realize how hollow and empty their lives were before baby Yoda until they actually first laid eyes on baby Yoda themselves. Baby Yoda is a precious commodity, and he deserves to be revered by us all.

He Must Be Protected

And who can't relate to Din Djarin's feelings when it comes to this in particular? Clearly the Mandalorians taught Mando to be pretty strong and stoic, because unlike most sane people in the galaxy, he actually gave baby Yoda up for some precious beskar.

However after a few hours without the Yodlet it seems that Mando realized his grave mistake, and he promptly returned and murdered all of baby Yoda's captors in order to take baby Yoda for himself. And Mandalorian fans can all agree, it was really the first sane thing that Mando did in the series.

A Hard Lesson Learned

One truly has to wonder if Pedro Pascal taking on the role of Din Djarin was really a coincidence. I mean, clearly any actor who is offered a role in any Star Wars anything, especially a leading role, isn't going to turn it down.

But it's not without irony that Pascal's previous biggest role was as Oberyn Martell, a man who lost his life at the literal hands of Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane when Clegane crushed his skull like a grape. Clearly Mando isn't going to be written off his own show, but Pascal probably takes comfort in the fact that Mando is always adorned with a helmet too.

Exceeds Expectations

The nostalgia factor for the original Star Wars is so high that literally anything Star Wars that comes out afterwards is going to be polarizing and guaranteed to not be loved by every Star Wars fan.

However, it would seem like The Mandalorian is at the very least the most successful element of the new Star Wars universe so far. It's not hard to see why either, there really isn't much to dislike about this story of a lone wolf and his newly adopted tiny but insanely powerful baby. A baby that is actually older than he is.

Aggressive Enjoyment

Well, in a world where everything seems to be terrible all the time, what exactly is so wrong with falling in love with an amazing TV show and then aggressively trying to indoctrinate every single person you see into it?

The Mandalorian is one of the few bright spots in a pretty bleak TV landscape and a pretty bleak world in general, so if there are fans out there to commiserate with, fellow Mando fans want to find them. And if there are people who haven't watched it yet, there are plenty of fans who want to force them to.

A Stronger Empire

The Mandalorian has actually been excellent about maintaining mainstream Star Wars canon, but this is a pretty fair meme. AT-STs are undoubtedly intimidating pieces of machinery, however the fact that a squad of spunky Teddy bears managed to take them out in the original trilogy while an entire village was nearly decimated despite having a Mandalorian and a Shock Trooper on their side seems like a pretty wide difference in canonical power.

Mando's flirtation with a regular life, or at least flirtation with leaving baby Yoda behind for a regular life, was a worthwhile episode. However the AT-ST was a noticeable flaw.

The Benjamin Button Effect

Keanu Reeves gets finer with age, and Yoda gets cuter with youth. And apparently the balance of the Force is as it should be. Old Yoda was a meme before baby Yoda was even a hint of a reality, but as soon as that three-fingered hand reached out of that floating bassinet it was clearly all over for old Yoda.

It's actually a little unfortunate for old Yoda, because once you've seen the face of baby Yoda it's kind of hard to look at the shriveled form of old Yoda. Plus, how sad that Yoda has been demoted from just "Yoda" to old Yoda.
