The Mandalorian Has The Best Star Wars Quotes In Years

With just three episodes released thus far, Disney Plus' The Mandalorian has given fans some of the best Star Wars lines in a very long time.

Mandalorian This Is The Way Quote

The Mandalorian has already given fans some of the best Star Wars quotes in a long time. Lucasfilm is dipping their toes on live-action TV shows via the Disney+ inaugural series. Created by Jon Favreau, the show is set five years after Return of the Jedi and follows lone gunslinger Dyn Jarren, played by Pedro Pascal. The bounty hunter's latest mission: retrieve baby Yoda - a Force sensitive infant from the same mysterious species as Jedi Master Yoda.

The Mandalorian debuted alongside Disney+ two weeks ago, and has now rolled out three episodes - "Chapter 1" directed by Dave Filoni; "The Child" directed by Rick Famuyiwa; and "The Sin" directed by Deborah Chow. The series only has eight chapters for its first season, with a second year already in production. And while each episode is deemed too short for some, it has already produced a couple of  memorable lines reminiscent of some of Star Wars' all-time great quotable quotes.

In "Chapter 1," fans meet the Ugnaught moisture farmer, Kuiil (Nick Nolte) who went on to help the Mandalorian in his mission to retrieve baby Yoda. Not much is known about Kuiil, but based on Dyn's time with him, we gather that he had been working for someone else for a long time, and that he values his autonomy nowadays. This is why his phrase "I have spoken," which he uses to emphasize his point, makes sense in terms of his current way of life. Outside of the show, it's also a sharp, short phrase that can be used in various ways, as evidenced by the countless memes with it online.

Meanwhile, The Mandalorian's latest episode introduced fans to the Favreau-voiced Paz Vizla and revealed more about the way of living the Mandalorians during the show's time period. It's established that they're currently in hiding - with only one of them allowed out of their underground base so they're able to maintain a low profile. We also learn their mantra: "This is the way," a catchphrase that encapsulates their code in order to survive. It's a short reminder that while times are tough, it's necessary to preserve their way of life.

Since debuting in their respective The Mandalorian episodes, both lines have gone viral. They've been used in countless memes and other conversations with different contexts, effectively joining the ranks of other memorable Star Wars quotes that fans continue to use on a regular basis like "May the Force Be with You," "No, I am your father," "Do or do not, there is no try," and "I have a bad feeling about this."

The Mandalorian's ability to produce two memorable Star Wars lines in just three episodes is much more impressive considering when one takes into consideration how the contemporary films have barely have produced anything as quotable. Sure there have been great lines from them, but nothing has reached the level of popularity of "I have spoken" and "This is the way," perhaps except for Rogue One's "I am one with the Force, the Force is with me." With five more episodes to go before it wraps up with season 1, fans are on the lookout for the next memorable Star Wars catchphrase from The Mandalorian.
