Grogu became an internet sensation who stole the hearts of millions of fans. He's easily a fan-favorite and is one of the most beloved original Star Wars characters to appear in quite some time. After leaving a lasting impact in the first season of The Mandalorian, we learned that his real name is Grogu. Furthermore, he continued to develop a father-son relationship with Din Djarin, which became more compelling in season two.

In the first season, Grogu entertained us with antics like eating frogs and sipping on his soup. Season two exceeded the Grogu content, leaving fans even more amused and captivated. However, the second season saw some of his best moments that featured his father-figure, Din Djarin. Though we may not see Grogu for a while, it is time to go down memory lane and cherish some of the best Grogu scenes in the series' second season.

Closing His Pod

Although Grogu is 50 years-old, his species are different from most others in terms of lifespan and growth. Therefore, he still behaves like a child, so it is difficult for Mando to communicate with Grogu. However, in this scene, Grogu knew what to anticipate and had the most hilarious yet understanding reaction, which only shows the growth and development he has been through since the first season.

When Mando activated his blasters, Grogu instantly knew that a fight was happening and quickly closed his pod. Grogu knew that it was not going to be pretty for Gor Koresh and his goons.

Grogu Running To Din Djarin

After finishing their mission with the beast in Tatooine, Mando and Grogu came across some bandits who wanted The Child. One of the bandits held Grogu and threatened his life, at which, of course, we were all appalled.

Luckily, Mando struck a deal by giving his jet pack in exchange for Grogu. Once freed, we saw a scared Grogu cry and run to Mando. This moment shows how close Grogu has become to Mando since the first season and even considers him as his father-figure, which only warms our hearts, knowing that Grogu is now safe in Din's hands.

Failed But Cute Attempt At Fixing The Wires

Grogu Fixing Wires In the Mandalorian

We want to know what Mando was thinking when getting Grogu to fix the wires. Mando tried to give Grogu instructions, but, of course, Grogu had no idea what he was saying, as he's only a child.

Even when Mando told him not to put the red and blue wire together, Grogu does exactly that, which causes the circuits to burn from the opposite charge. Luckily, Grogu looked fine and only let out a small cough. Although playing with wires is dangerous, it was still a cute moment to see Grogu miserably fail at fixing wires while also trying his best to understand Mando. After the electrocution, it was heartwarming to see Mando when he asked if Grogu was alright, which was a very fatherly thing for the otherwise cold character to do.

Grogu Plays With Frog Lady's Baby

Grogu tries to eat a hatchling

Although we were upset with Grogu for eating eggs that were the last of its kind, at least he redeemed himself when he was at Frog Lady's house. When daddy Mando had to go on a mission with Bo-Katan and her crew, Mando left Grogu in the care of Frog Lady and her husband.

Of course, his appetite for frog eggs was gone when he saw a live baby creature in his presence. Grogu enjoyed caressing the frog-like baby so much that he did not want to leave. Unfortunately, he had no choice, and that led to him making some distressing coos because he wanted to play with the baby for a few more minutes.

Grogu Taking The Macarons

Baby Yoda Eating Macarons In The Mandalorian

It is well-established that Grogu is hungry almost all the time, which became its running gag in both seasons. We saw him eat live frogs, octopus-looking creatures in a stew, and eggs that are the last of Frog-Lady's species. Nevertheless, most scenes of him eating have been downright adorable.

While Mando was on a mission with Cara Dune and Karga, Grogu ended up in a classroom. He watched a classmate eat macaron cookies and had the appetite to eat one. When his neighbor refused to give Grogu one, Grogu took the matter to his hand and used the Force to grab the pack of cookies, which left his neighbor stunned.

Din Djarin Calling His Name

Baby Yoda Grogu in The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 5

Considering that the series takes place approximately five years after Return of the Jedi, Grogu has not heard his name for at least 20-30 years of his life since the day he escaped the Jedi Temple. Therefore, it was heartwarming to see formerly-Baby Yoda, or the Child, hear his birth name, Grogu, for the first time in years.

It was even more pleasing to see how Grogu reacted every time someone called out his name, with his small coos. Of course, his father-figure Mando had the most fun calling out his name, as Grogu faced his direction every time Mando called out his name.

His Jedi Assessment

Ahsoka Tano wanted to put Grogu to the test and watched where his abilities lay with the Force. His task was to use the Force to grab the ball and then give it back to the recipient. Of course, he has not trained in almost three decades, so he is pretty rough.

He failed the first time with Ahsoka, so she had Din fill in as the recipient because Grogu would likely listen to him. As he succeeded in his task, it was touching to see Din act like a father, where he cheered on his son for trying. However, it was heartbreaking because Grogu was scared to use his Force with the darkness inside him.

Grogu Making His Calling In Tython

The Mandalorian Baby Yoda Meditating

Because Ahsoka will not train Grogu, Din and Grogu travel to Tython, where they find a temple at a mountain. Grogu is placed in the center of the temple, where he meditates and makes his call.

We have not seen too many moments where Grogu displayed his powers, so it was refreshing to see him use the Force while making a call to any nearby Jedi and illustrating the vigor that Grogu possesses. This is also the first scene where Grogu is confident in what he is doing and appears calm as he passes on his calling.

Fights The Stormtroopers With His Force Powers

The Mandalorian's Baby Yoda attempts to use the Force Choke

We finally got some Grogu action in the penultimate episode where he faced and overpowered the stormtroopers in the room. After the Dark Troopers abducted Grogu at Tython, Grogu does his best to defend himself while using most of his powers.

Fans were impressed to see the strength and brute force by Grogu as he fully swang around the two stormtroopers around the room. Of course, Grogu is only a child, so he only has so much strength and energy to use his full powers, leaving us distressed when he could not fight anymore and became handcuffed.

Grogu Touches Din's Face

The Mandalorian Finale Baby Yoda Touches Mando's Face

For a while, Grogu grew curious about the facial appearance of Din Djarin. He tried to peek at it in "Chapter 12: The Siege," but to no avail. With his journey set to conclude with Din Djarin, it was Grogu's last chance to look at Din's face before saying goodbye and leaving with Luke Skywalker for training.

In this scene, Din removed his helmet, and Grogu slowly stroked his face while admiring it. This moment highlights their strong bond as a father and son, making the farewell even more emotional. It is a beautiful and heartbreaking scene between Din Djarin and Grogu, as this could be the last we ever see them together.
