A new Baby Yoda LEGO sculpture has been constructed from over 14,000 bricks. The character has enjoyed tremendous popularity since arriving last year on Disney+’s hit Star Wars series, The Mandalorian. With season 2 set to kick off soon, Baby Yoda is once again a big topic of conversation for many fans.

In the relatively short time that Baby Yoda (aka The Child) has been a part of the Star Wars universe, fans have seen the character go from a mysterious novelty—complete with memes and much online conjecture—to a very central part of the show’s carefully unfolding plot. In addition to this, the merchandise that was once held back at the request of show creator Jon Favreau has since arrived in a big way. Today, Baby Yoda is everywhere and is being snapped up by devoted fans in a variety of collectible figures, memorabilia, and even edible treats. In fact, it’s hard to believe that there ever was a time in which few collectibles could be found that were related to the character. As Season 2 looks likely to reveal more about Baby Yoda, it will be interesting to see just how much more popular he becomes.

In celebration of the upcoming second season of The Mandalorian, LEGO has built a very special scale model of The Child. The short video below offers a look at the end product, courtesy of LEGO’s official Twitter account. Using 14,588 bricks, the Baby Yoda sculpture shows the character off in his levitating pram and took 119 hours, as well as three LEGO master builders to complete. As it’s to scale, it stands 57cm (22”) tall.

The second season of The Mandalorian is due to arrive on October 30th and, judging from how the first season ended, season 2 will offer an even greater focus on Baby Yoda. The need to find the character’s home planet as well as others from his unique species is arguably Din Djarin’s main objective. As such, what can potentially be revealed about Baby Yoda is considerable and it will be interesting to see whether or not a second season leaves fans as fascinated with the character as many currently are. If the series should reveal others like Baby Yoda—that is, of the same species—fans just might be faced with the prospect of an entire planet filled with the creatures, which would heighten their popularity considerably.

Ever since Yoda was first introduced in 1980’s The Empire Strikes Back, fans of the Star Wars franchise have always kept a special place in their hearts for him. The Child’s appeal is partly due to Yoda’s fame—even if it turns out that the two aren’t actually the same species. It seems that there’s very little that Disney could do at this point to turn fans off from Baby Yoda, and LEGO has completely embraced that love for the character with this incredible new rendering of him. It’s a perfect way to highlight the fact that The Mandalorian is on its way back to TV screens very soon.
