Warning: Spoilers for The Mandalorian season 2 finale.

A new augmented reality feature on the Google app can bring The Mandalorian's Baby Yoda into fan's homes. When Disney+'s first original show premiered in November 2019, one of the main reasons it became so popular was because of The Child at its center. Baby Yoda, now known as Grogu, became an overnight sensation and helped to popularize The Mandalorian as fans became invested with Din Djarin's efforts to protect him from those who wished to harm him.

The Mandalorian's second season just concluded, leaving Grogu's future, and the show's, up in the air. Baby Yoda has now gone off with Luke Skywalker to be trained in the ways of the Force. There's no word on whether or not he'll appear in the third season, but it's likely he will in some capacity. Din Djarin's connection to Grogu is too powerful to be forgotten. Until then, though, fans can see Baby Yoda in their own homes.

A new feature from Google and LucasFilm's VFX company ILM can help fans see Baby Yoda appear in their own homes. With the feature, users can use the Google app to utilize augmented reality. If they search on Google any phrase related to Baby Yoda, including his real name Grogu or phrases like "The Child" and "The Mandalorian," the adorable creature will appear. People are encouraged to share photos of Baby Yoda in their homes on social media using associated hashtags. Check out the full instructions below:

Open the Google app (Android & iOS) and search for: The Child, Grogu, The Mandalorian, or Baby Yoda.

Tap View in 3D on the search results page to see the 3D model, which was designed in collaboration with Lucasfilms’ ILM VFX studio.

Then, tap View in your space and you’ll be able to see the Child in AR wherever your camera takes you.

Snap a photo and send it to your friends, or post on social with the hashtags #Google3D and #TheMandalorian! Android users can also record videos to capture the magic in motion.

Baby Yoda toys were an extremely hot commodity, and Disney potentially lost millions by not selling them immediately after the character's debut last year. With the holiday season coming up and things tougher than usual this year, Baby Yoda toys may be hard to score. The character may be more popular than ever after the heart-wrenching conclusion of The Mandalorian season 2. Fans getting to see the little guy in their homes could be the perfect distraction.

Even with the future of Baby Yoda up in the air, it's all but guaranteed we haven't seen the last of him. Disney would be foolish not to have him appear in The Mandalorian season 3, set to premiere around Christmas next year. Baby Yoda's popularity has only skyrocketed, and it's safe to say that it will continue this holiday season. Fans will surely want to see his journey from young Padawan to full-blown Jedi, something the show has hinted at. Now that Grogu is safe in the hands of Luke Skywalker, his journey is only set to get more exciting as the series continues.
