International superstar Maluma has no idea where his rumored relationship with Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kim Kardashian began. The 40-year-old reality star has been keeping a quieter profile than usual following her split from Kanye West. After months of rumors speculating that the two were headed for divorce, Kim called it quits and legally filed paperwork back in March. Since then, neither party has really opened up much about what was happening behind closed doors, with the exception of Kanye hinting at infidelity at his own expense on a track in his newly released album. In leaked divorce papers, it states that Kim is asking for full joint custody of their four children.

Though Kim has begun her newly found single lifestyle caring for her family, there was one weekend when Kim enjoyed a girls' night out in Miami and ended up bumping into the Colombian pop star. Shortly after they met, Kim posted a series of shots of the duo on her Instagram story, which sent both of their fans into a frenzy. Many users across all social media sites shipped the potential power couple. Kim dazzled in a mustard dress and scrappy heels, while Maluma showed off his bare chest in a pin stripped suit. Though Maluma is much younger than Kim, it wouldn't be the first time a Keeping Up With The Kardashians star allowed their heart to lead them to someone with a large age gap.

Now looking back on the moment, Maluma told L'Officiel Hommes that he doesn't understand why the public thinks he's dating the high-profile personality. "I don't even know! Right? We were together at the Dior show. I met her for the first time there," he said. "I was also there with Kourtney [Kardashian]." The Latin singer continued to explain that he believes the speculation began because someone likely knew she was getting a divorce around the time they were photographed in Miami together, and used their assumptions to spread rumors as facts. Nonetheless, Maluma makes it clear that while they aren't dating, they are "good friends" who don't talk often, but always wishes the best for one another.

This wasn't the first time the celebrity powerhouses had to address their potential romance. Bravo host Andy Cohen asked Kim about the rumors back in June on the Keeping up With The Kardashians Reunion Special. "I've seen him a few times, always in Miami, such a nice guy," she said as she denied there was any flame between herself and the musician. Maluma has a close relationship to the family as he's also longtime friends with Kourtney's ex, Scott Disick, who appeared in his music video earlier this year.

Though there's no true love between Kim and Maluma, fans admit the dynamic duo would have been an even bigger powerhouse than the one the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star held with Kanye for the last seven years. That said, fans should never say never as the best relationships often begin with deep friendships. That's all Kim should be focusing on right now anyway as she heads into finalizing her divorce.
