Fans of Married At First Sight have been wary of Chris Williams since the start of the season, and now his engagement video with ex-fiancée Mercedes Myrick has surfaced. This is making people wonder if everything is just a setup. They suspect that Chris and his ex-fiancée had this planned all along to get more exposure.

It is as if things could not get worse for Paige Banks. Viewers are rallying around her due to the unfair pairing this season. Granted, participants are warned that the experts' matches are not foolproof, but time and time again, fans wonder if the Married At First Sight experts even try at all. They feel that each season features a terrible husband who is used to stir up drama (or a couple that makes fans shake their heads.) These decisions are always made at the expense of an innocent party. Who can forget Meka Jones and Michael Watson from Married At First Sight season 10? Michael was a compulsive liar and every time Meka asked him what his job title was, it changed. With Paige and Chris, Williams was so fixated on Banks' looks. Chris even admitted that he was not 100% attracted to her, but previews show that they have slept with each other multiple times. Now, the fact that he was engaged just three months before being matched has been revealed, and viewers think this is a grab at fame.

A video of Chris Williams and his ex-fiancée Mercedes Myrick has surfaced, leaving fans very confused. In the video, they are surrounded by family and friends as Chris pops the question, using a plate with a rose on either side as a proposal prop. His then-girlfriend Mercedes accepts, and the congratulations from those around them begin. This video has led many to question the timeline of events. See the video, via Laila Monroe, below:

Chris Williams got engaged to Mercedes Myrick in February 2020. There was also evidence that the two quarantined together. If Chris’ ex-fiancé is pregnant, this may point to a Covid-19 baby conceived during June. However, he says that he and his fiancé broke up in May 2020. There are many alleged contradictions here, and a lot of fans are extremely angry at the experts. Some have even called them negligent. Throughout the franchise, there have been couples fans have loved and disliked.

This season of Married At First Sight may end in tears for Paige Banks, as she will find out about the baby, as per preview footage. The production doesn't seem interested in authentic connections as they have focused more on drama and turmoil. The storyline must be one of the worst things this franchise has done for ratings. Most viewers feel that a happy ending for Paige is highly unlikely. Does MAFS humiliate some cast members and break the trust that participants put in this process? Maybe so. Production is currently casting for MAFS season 14 in Boston.
