Peter Weber's season of The Bachelor caught a lot of flack. Fans criticized his choices, his mom's involvement, and the women he had to choose from. For the most part, the only contestants that were universally liked throughout the season were Kelley Flanagan and Madison Prewett. Peter broke off his engagement with Hannah Ann Sluss to go after Madison. Peter and Madison got verbally obliterated by Peter's mom Barb Weber during the live finale, while Kelley sat there (randomly) in the audience.
They split up two days later, and, then a couple weeks ago, the news broke that Peter was quarantining with Kelley in Chicago, even though he dumped her right before hometown dates. While Peter made his rounds doing podcast interviews, that he recorded from Kelley's apartment, Madison has been pretty quiet, until now, anyway. Kelley and Madison were close friends throughout filming and when the season aired, so, of course, Madison has a lot to say about Kelley and Peter's relationship.
While Madison is so polite and diplomatic, she didn't hold back when she appeared on the Off the Vine With Kaitlyn Bristowe podcast. Madison set the scene, saying, "This is where it gets interesting. We were best friends, actually. We were inseparable throughout the entire process. Everyone joked that we were like the dynamic duo. [We] really leaned on each other throughout that entire thing." Kelley was even one of the first people Madison called post-filming and she was a part of a Prewett family group text.
However, Kelley wasn't the only one texting Madison though, it seemed that Peter was playing the field. She told Kaitlyn Bristowe, "Two days before he was spotted in Chicago, he was calling me and texting me 'I miss you. Let's get back together.' So, I mean, that to me, was a little confusing." Just a little? She also confirmed that neither Peter nor Kelley gave her any sort of heads up about their relationship. Aside from the sting of the news itself, the timing was especially insensitive. Madison revealed:
When all the pictures got out and everything had leaked, it was on my birthday. He didn't text me on my birthday. She didn't text me on my birthday. I also threw that in there. It also felt like it was kind of like a jab at me to do that on my birthday and to not even like reach out or anything.
She also confronted Peter and Kelley about rumors that he was hanging with Kelley while he was (supposedly) trying to work things out with her and while he was still with Hannah Ann. Madison shared, "his answers and her answers very much contradict the situation that's happening right now."
While Madison seemed to cope with Peter breakup pretty well, it appears that the change in her relationship with Kelley cuts pretty deep. She confessed, "I thought she was gonna be in my wedding" and admitted "I thought we were going to be best friends for life." Not only that, but Madison was "confused" by some comments Kelley supposedly made to her about Peter. Share the screenshots, girl. Madi is way too classy to do that though.
And, of course, there's the added element that this is all happening in the public eye. As if it wasn't bad enough for to know that someone she envisioned a bridesmaid in her wedding is quarantined with a guy she considered marrying, the whole world knows about it. Not only that, but everyone has been subjected to Peter and Kelley's awkward TikToks. Madison will be just fine though. She will continue to produce premium TikTok content, dominate on the basketball court, pile on the mascara, and, above all else, remain "genuine and real."
