Although Madden NFL 21 is getting mixed reviews from its players, diehard football fans don't have any qualms looking past it as it is clear that they are still thoroughly enjoying them. The game does have some fun aspects to it, especially when looking at its Franchise Mode, which allows the player to take over and control their team of choice.
Like the real NFL, the primary position that a team needs to succeed with is their quarterback. It truly impacts not only the simulation but the actual gameplay, as a quarterback's skill is integral to the team's victory. The game does have some outstanding options to choose from, thankfully, so the potential to build a strong team is there. However, the real challenge is knowing which one is right for the player as each have their own set of skills. Although strong depth around the whole roster is a necessity, there is no denying that an elite QB is the most crucial element.
Drew Brees
Drew Brees recently called it quits, and at the end of the day, he had a truly stupendous career. However, due to the fact that this game takes place before his big announcement, he is still a great option.
He is understandably old in NFL terms so the player would have to use a team that is ready to win now. Nevertheless, it is a fun challenge to try to get Brees his second ring as he does have the talent to do so in the game.
Russell Wilson
Russell Wilson is one of the best quarterbacks in the entire league, so it makes sense that this carries over to the game. However, what some players may be unaware of is that he has an opt-out clause following the 2021 season.
Therefore, he can become a free agent very early on in Franchise Mode, which makes him a must-sign player. It is hard to find a quarterback that has a better arm than Wilson in the game, so using him is always fun.
Kyler Murray
Kyler Murray is a very talented QB to have as he has immense potential and is only 23-years-old. He is definitely displaying his skill quite nicely in his career thus far, so he is a big name to add to the team.
This is the type of quarterback to have if the player is looking to take the long road to a championship. There is plenty of time for Murray to grow and excel. In fact, he has all the tools to bring upon a potential dynasty in this game.
Matthew Stafford
Matthew Stafford is one of the most-talked about names in football right now, as he recently was traded from the Detroit Lions to the Los Angeles Rams. Rams' fans should be excited as he is a marvelous passer.
In the game, this definitely is the case as well so there is a lot of fun to be had when using him. Also, the storyline that comes with using Stafford is fantastic, as winning him his first championship would be an awesome feeling.
Lamar Jackson
With Lamar Jackson being just 24-years-old, it is apparent that he is another wonderful option to have at quarterback long-term. The player can simply choose the Ravens to use him or they can create a challenge by trying to acquire him.
That would be a king's ransom, to say the least, but it sure would be worth it. Jackson already has an MFL Most Valuable Player award on his resume, so naturally, he is absolutely amazing in the game.
Josh Allen
Josh Allen is blossoming into an elite quarterback in real life, as he is bringing the Buffalo Bills back to relevancy. He is another 24-year-old quarterback as well so he does have the ability to become even better in the game, too.
It is hard not to want to take over the Bills in this game when Allen is on them. Also, the entire losing narrative that the Bills possess is worth trying to change with him. Overall, it is hard not to want to use Allen for these reasons.
Tom Brady
Tom Brady quickly made Tampa Bay his new home, as he of course led them to their Super Bowl championship. As a reward for his heroics, the team gave him a four-year extension this off-season.
Brady is a fantastic player in this game, so it is absolutely worth using him. With the new contract in place too, he is somebody who actually can be a multiple-year-option.
Aaron Rodgers
As great of a career Aaron Rodgers has had thus far, the fact that he has won just one championship is disappointing. Therefore, there certainly is a fun incentive for taking over the Packers and using him.
At 37-years-old, he is definitely close to the ending of his career, so the player should act fast and try to win him a couple more rings. It also does not hurt that his immense skill transfers over to the game extremely well.
Tua Tagovailoa
Tua Tagovailoa starts the mode with a bit of a low overall, but it sure does skyrocket quickly with his high potential. This is definitely fair, as he is already showing that he has the ability to be quite successful in the NFL.
This is another fantastic option for those who want a bit of a challenge in their pursuit of a Super Bowl title. He is a young face of the franchise type, so that definitely helps add to his appeal, too.
Patrick Mahomes
Patrick Mahomes may have lost this year's Super Bowl, but he will absolutely redeem himself in time. In fact, the player has the option to help him do so if they choose to use the Chiefs or add him to their other team.
He is essentially a cheat code in the game, as he is not only an excellent passer, but also has great speed to match it. This is pretty accurate to his real life abilities, too, so players absolutely should take advantage of it.
