Mad Men is a fantastic series, and being set in the '50s and '60s, the show brings that time period to life from the way the characters talk, act, and dress. The fashion of the time was great, from fancy dresses to brilliant suits, and that is well reflected within the show itself, although not every single character is a fashionable one.

They might be brilliant in the advertising world, but when it comes to picking out a great outfit, not every character has an eye for design. However, while there are certain characters who couldn't dress well, there are plenty that could, wowing their fellow office workers with their design.

Sally Draper

At the start of the show, Sally Draper is just a young girl and therefore fashion doesn't really come into play, although she's always made to look presentable. However, as she grows up, it becomes clear that clothing, jewelry, and make-up are beginning to be important to her.

That's reflected in some of the stunning dresses she chooses to wear, or the fashion accessories she opts to choose from. Sally likes to stand out and the choices she makes toward the end of the show prove that she's a stylish character.

Peggy Olson

At the start of the show, Peggy Olson's fashion sense is next to none. She doesn't put much thought into her outfits and simply wants to be comfortable. However, in the office environment, she quickly learns the importance of appearance and through her friendship with Joan, Peggy is able to develop her fashion sense.

As her role within the company grows, so does Peggy's confidence and that allows her to put together some great outfits as the show goes on. She ends up wearing some very stylish dresses and skirts, and she managed to put together great business outfits, while also looking brilliant.

Jane Sterling

Jane Sterling is somebody who looks brilliant in Mad Men with her fresh and unique fashion sense. While a lot of the women working in the office are wearing floaty dresses, Jane typically wears form-fitting clothing, with a great blend of dresses and blazers that help to make her stand out.

This is how she ends up catching the eye of Roger and her style overall is one of the greatest of the show. Her clothes always look brilliant and it's clear that she dresses to look as impressive as possible.

Don Draper

Don Draper is the lead character of the series, and because of that it's no surprise he's also one of the most fashionable. Coming from a military background, Don always makes sure he is well presented, from stylish suits to his casual clothing at home.

Don likes to look the part, and that is why he can always be seen in expensive clothes. He knows how to present himself and carry his style to impress others, and that level of confidence helps to make his fashion work.

Salvatore Romano

Salvatore Romano is one of the most popular characters from Mad Men, and someone who has a truly emotional storyline. However, when it comes to fashion, he always knows what to wear, whether it be his fantastic suits which are always perfectly form-fitting, or his casual clothing, which is equally as sleek.

Harry Crane

Harry Crane wasn't always a popular character in Mad Men, as he is someone who would backstab anybody and constantly whine until he was heard. However, there can be no denying that when it came to fashion he was ahead of the trends.

Harry would often wear over-the-top outfits that were very different from others, with bold colors and fancy neckties. He was ushering in a new style that made him ahead of the curve in comparison to others, which went along with the Hollywood lifestyle that he was living toward the end of the show.

Roger Sterling

Roger Sterling was a little more classic in comparison to Harry Crane, sticking with the traditional suits and colors of the times. However, there's no denying that he always looked fantastic. Roger was one of the men in charge of the company, therefore dressing appropriately was a big part of that, which he always did.

Roger wore some fantastic suits and because he was often the one heading out to wine and dine potential clients, he always had to look his best. Roger would often wear the double-breasted jackets that just looked slightly more stylish than what everyone else was putting together at the time.

Megan Draper

Megan Draper was someone who made an impact from the moment she entered the show. Megan brings a lot of youth into the series in comparison to the other main characters, and her outfits reflect that, bringing in a fresher type of fashion.

It helped to make Megan look different, even with her hairstyle being much shorter than the rest, this was a character that could pull off a great look whether in the office or outside of work.

Betty Draper is slightly more stylish than Don's second wife, wearing tremendous dresses on a regular basis. Her past as a model certainly helped develop her style, with Betty always ensuring she is presentable and looking as good as possible.

She takes her role of being a housewife seriously, and that includes always wanting to look brilliant. She has a great variety of frocks for home, and when she is outside of the home Betty always looks fantastic as well. Whether it be lavish party dresses or even her horse-riding uniform, whatever Betty does, she's dressed perfectly for it.

Joan Holloway

Joan Holloway is easily the most fashionable character within Mad Men, always dressing to impress and ensuring she stood out in the office. Joan was the main woman in the company, and her fashion was a big part of that presentation, putting the fear into other new employees immediately.

Joan would wear a variety of colors, and different styles throughout the show in order to stay on top of her fashion. With jewelry often being a big part of her style as well, she would constantly catch the eye of others and ensured she would be taken seriously.
