One of 2010's craziest-looking action films is Robert Rodriguez's Machete, the full-length version of his faux trailer from the Grindhouse experience. The official website for the movie has just been launched which contains some brand new images.
If the trailers and images so far haven't been enough to get your money then the cast should do it: Danny Trejo, Robert De Niro, Steven Seagal, Jessica Alba, Cheech Marin, Michelle Rodriguez, Don Johnson, Jeff Fahey and even Lindsay Lohan. If nothing else Machete will surely snag the prize for most diverse cast of the year.
Fox has just launched the official website for Machete and included in there is a whole gallery of new images (the gallery also includes pics we've already seen). The website, along with the images, are presented in that same grimy, tattered style as the movie itself, and needless to say, it looks awesome.
We've included a selection of the images in a nifty gallery below:

One thing I'll definitely be curious to see is how Machete does at the box office. You're probably aware that Grindhouse tanked and it wasn't exactly a cheap film to make ($67 million!), despite how it looked. Obviously Machete didn't cost anywhere near as much as the full Grindhouse double-feature, but it's done in very much the same style. When it comes down to it, Machete is actually an extension of one part of Grindhouse so will audiences shy away from it as they did that movie?
However Machete fairs at the box office, I'm sure it will turn out to be as great as it looks. At the very least it should provide for a fun piece of Fall movie escapism.
Machete slices its way into theaters on September 3rd, 2010.
