J.K. Rowling may have some incredible casting on her hands: Macaulay Culkin wants a role in the next film in the Harry Potter spinoff franchise, Fantastic Beasts. The latest trailer for the upcoming film, The Crimes of Grindelwald, was recently released, and it has fans buzzing about a lot of things. Most notable? The official reveal of the character Nagini - in her human form.

A popular fan theory was confirmed when the trailer was released: Nagini, a snake companion of Lord Voldemort's and one of his seven Horcruxes in the Harry Potter series, was previously a woman - specifically, a Maledictus witch who carries a blood curse that turns her into a creature. In this case, a serpent. Actress Claudia Kim, whose exact role in the film has been unknown until now, has said that her character wants to remain human despite her abilities. While most were surprised, many were pleased - but some fans took issue with the human version of the character.

Amidst all this commotion, who should chime in but Culkin, who tweeted his support to Rowling - and an additional message. In a tweet directed at the author, Culkin expressed his interest in appearing in the third installment in the franchise, while also listing some of his credentials, including his starring roles in Home Alone and The Pagemaster, which is a children's animated feature that dealt with magic and books that came to life.

In the second part of his tweet, Culkin reached out to Dan Fogler, who reprises his role from Fantastic Beasts in the forthcoming film. Fogler plays Jacob Kowalski, a No-Maj who becomes friends with Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) and assists him with his adventures. Fogler and Culkin are apparently "friends in real life," and the actor responded to Culkin, noting that he looks similar to Lucius and Draco Malfoy (Jason Isaacs and Tom Felton) in the original films.

While many might agree that Culkin could definitely be a relative of Draco, the actor isn't interested in going the Slytherin route. Culkin showed off his knowledge of the Wizarding World, noting his house and Patronus. This leaves fans with one major question: does Macaulay Culkin have a Pottermore account? Fogler, however, brought things away from Hogwarts, replying that he imagines Culkin as a student at the U.S. school, Ilvermorny.

J.K. Rowling herself hasn't chimed in, but it looks like Culkin has a good connection to Fogler. As it stands, the actor, who took a long break in the late '90s and '00s, hasn't appeared in anything on the level of Fantastic Beasts. However, he turned down an opportunity to star on The Big Bang Theory at one point, and he's worked with Seth Green quite a bit, voicing characters on his stop-motion animated series Robot Chicken and acting alongside him in the upcoming film Changeland. Maybe Rowling and co. would be willing to help him get his career back in high standing.
