Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker Hot Toys figure from Star Wars: The Last Jedi has now been revealed. It joins a growing pile of The Last Jedi tie-in merchandise, which various retailers are touting ahead of the long-awaited film’s imminent release in theaters this week. Other Hot Toys tie-ins for The Last Jedi include figurines of Daisy Ridley’s Rey, Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren, and Carrie Fisher’s General Leia Organa.
Prior to this official unveiling, fans had already gotten a glimpse at The Last Jedi's Luke Skywalker Hot Toys figure thanks to Mark Hamill himself. The actor posted a picture of his latest action figure incarnation back in June, after encountering the highly accurate piece of merchandise at New York Comic Con 2017.

There is a lot to take in here. Your attention is likely to be grabbed by the accessories and costume items that this Luke figure comes with: he has a couple of sticks, his lightsaber, a necklace, two bags, three gloves, and some sort of compass. It’s unclear if Luke will use all of these items in the film, but they must have been put with this figure for a reason. It’s also interesting that some of the accessories only come with the ‘Deluxe’ version of the figure.
Where does that compass lead? It’s impossible to tell, but the blue gem in its middle could be a clue. Perhaps this is one of the Kyber crystals, which are used in lightsabers and the Death Star, as Rogue One explained. Maybe Luke used this Kyber compass to locate the first Jedi temple, where he has taken refuge in exile for a number of years.
Of course, that prediction could be way off the mark, and fans won’t know the true importance of these items until the film is released. However, while audiences wait patiently for The Last Jedi to arrive, the mysteries of Luke’s exile remain high on the list of discussion points. This figure, which really is highly impressive, serves to stoke the fires of fan speculation.
