Luke Cage will see the return of yet another villain, as Thomas Q. Jones will be reprising his role as Comanche in season 2 of the series. With the completion of The Defenders, the various heroes from the Netflix corner of the MCU will be heading back to their own adventures. Each of the four heroes will all get a new season of their show, but there's no word yet on when they will premiere. Luckily, both Jessica Jones and Luke Cage season 2 are already shooting, so it seems safe to say that they will arrive next year.

Thanks to the ongoing production on both shows, we know a bit more about what to expect in their respective second seasons. With Luke Cage even further along into filming than Jessica Jones, plenty of casting rumors and set photos have hinted at what fans can expect next year. For one thing, we know some new comic book villains are rumored to join this series. Alongside them, a number of foes from the first season will also be back. Shades (Theo Rossi) has also been confirmed, and now it looks like he will be getting his right hand back.

Black Film has learned that Thomas Q. Jones will be returning for season 2 of Luke Cage. Jones, a former football player, was last seen during the flashback to Luke's time at Seagate in Luke Cage season 1, where he played the character Comanche from the comics.

On the page, Comanche and Shades have long worked together as rogues of Luke. The hero was even in a gang with them at one point, alongside Stryker. While the MCU has split Shades and Luke's backstory, they still shared a connection. We haven't seen Comanche outside of Seagate, but his return likely indicates the character will be appearing in the present. It could also mean he will have a more significant role, now that Shades has elevated himself in Harlem's criminal underworld.

In the comics, Comanche usually fights with a bow and arrows. Of course, Shades has a Cyclops-esque blaster visor in the source material, so we might just see the name carryover from the comics. Still, it's not out of the realm of possibility that the character will adopt a more fanciful weapon - and costume - at some point.

The announcement that Comanche is returning follows the big news earlier this week that Misty Knight (Simone Missick) will be returning for the new season of Luke Cage. Not only that, but the reveal also came with a shot of Misty's comic-book-related upgrade. We also know Rosario Dawson will return as Claire Temple to continue her relationship with Luke. Though Stryker and, sadly, Cottonomouth won't be back, it looks as if the rest of the gang will return for season 2 of Luke Cage.
