Luke Cage and Jessica Jones stars Mike Colter and Krysten Ritter continues to tease their returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in new images. Before Disney+ had their Marvel Studios shows, Marvel TV was the original division to produce new series across networks and streaming services. One of the platforms was Netflix, which hosted The Defenders franchise featuring Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Punisher. When Disney+ was in the works, it led to the Marvel shows on Netflix getting canceled after only a few seasons. However, after the licensing deal expired, The Defenders shows have all moved to Disney+, where they are currently available to stream.

Given that Charlie Cox is set to star in Daredevil: Born Again, many have wondered what it could mean for other Marvel Netflix stars. The British star returned to the MCU in Spider-Man: No Way Home before appearing for a guest arc on She-Hulk: Attorney At Law. Two other MCU stars that have seemingly teased potential returns are Ritter and Colter, who played Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, respectively

In a new batch of Instagram stories, Ritter shared images of her and Colter together, presumably somewhere in Los Angeles. One slide even has her referring to Colter as "Power Man," which is one of Luke's titles in the comics. This isn't the first time they've teased fans about possibly coming back to the MCU, as they have taken similar photos in past years.

How Luke Cage & Jessica Jones Can Return To The MCU

At the moment, Marvel Studios hasn't announced any plans for Ritter and Colter to return as Jessica and Luke. However, since Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio reprised their roles in the MCU, the door for the original Marvel TV era is wide open for those possibilities. One of the rumblings about Cox's upcoming Daredevil appearance in Echo is that he is actually looking for one of his Defenders allies. According to rumors that have yet to be confirmed, Jessica Jones is supposedly the MCU character he is trying to find.

Echo could be the starting point for Ritter's Jessica Jones before her role gets bigger again in the MCU. With Daredevil: Born Again continuing Matt Murdock's MCU arc in New York, that is another setup for Jessica Jones to show up. Cox's new series could also be the launching pad for Colter's Luke Cage to re-emerge in the MCU. Daredevil: Born Again would obviously have to reference a bit of what they have been up to after their shows ended - if they decide to make the Netflix series canon.

Earlier this year, Ritter caused speculation online that the MCU is staging a return for her Marvel heroine after she released workout pictures. With this being the latest tease from Ritter and Colter, it wouldn't be shocking if they know they are coming back and are simply building up hype. It would be genuinely fun for the MCU to bring back most of The Defenders, especially considering how short their time was on Netflix. Hopefully, Marvel Studios will make it clear sooner or later if Jessica Jones and Luke Cage are making a comeback in the MCU.
