Big Brother 24 has already begun and the new houseguests are already strategizing and setting up their game for the rest of the summer. The most successful Big Brother houseguests are either physically dominant or extremely socially conscious. However, some successful competitors had luck on their side and used it to go further in the game.

All of these houseguests were good players and not just lucky, although they did catch some lucky breaks that they used to their advantage to advance in the game. The lucky breaks caused ripple effects that changed the game and some of the players' futures.

Janelle Pierzina- Big Brother 7

Janelle was first on Big Brother 6 and was such a great player that America voted her in to play on Big Brother 7, which was an all-star season. She did not become one of the greatest players ever by being lucky, however, there was one break she did catch that might have saved her.

At the beginning of week 6, Erika won the HOH competition, but there were technical difficulties halfway through the contest. Janelle was already eliminated from the competition when technical problems occurred. This resulted in them having to replay the HOH competition for the start, and Janelle won it the second time around. So, without the technical difficulties, Janelle is vulnerable to being nominated and evicted from the house with Erika as HOH.

Dick Donato - Big Brother 8

Dick was a polarizing figure in the 8th season of the show. He made lots of enemies in the house, which puzzled some fans that he won the whole game.

In week 6, it seemed Dick was out of options as everyone wanted him gone. Fortunately for Dick, he caught a lucky break from America's player Eric. America loved watching Dick so much that they made Eric advocate to save him and get Dustin evicted. So, without America's help, it is possible that Dick is evicted this week.

Memphis Garret- Big Brother 10

Memphis was part of The Renegades alliance with one of the best Big Brother players of all time, Dan. He made it to the final two, but he was also helped out by a twist that involved America.

During week 4 of the season, Memphis was in trouble as the HOH April wanted to evict him. However, for week 4 only, Big Brother brought back the America's player twist, which they gave to Dan. In turn, Dan had to do whatever they wanted. America chose Dan to advocate for Jessie to be nominated. When the nominations stayed the same, America chose to vote out Jessie, so Memphis was saved by a vote of 4 to 3.

Jeff Schroeder - Big Brother 11

Jeff first appeared on Big Brother 11 and was not on the powerful side of the house for the first few weeks. Luckily, America liked him enough to give him an extremely powerful ability that possibly saved his game.

In week 4 of the season, America gave Jeff the Coup D'Etat, which was the ability to overthrow the HOH's nominations and put up whoever he wants, right before the houseguests voted. Jeff overthrew Chima's nominations and put up Jessie, who was the leader on the other side of the house. With Jessie evicted, Jeff had an easier path to go to the final 5 which saved him from being evicted earlier. If he is evicted earlier, then it is possible he does not come back for Big Brother 13.

Rachel Reilly - Big Brother 13

Rachel was on two seasons of the show and won her second time playing. Rachel's former Big Brother showmance and now husband Brendon was evicted in week 4, and in week 5, the houseguests learned that the next evicted houseguest would have a chance to get back in the game.

This prompted Lawon to advocate for himself to be voted off since he thought he would come back with a special power. Unfortunately, he had to battle one of the other previously voted-off houseguests that America voted for. They voted for Brendon and he won his way back into the game. If there was no hint at a returning player, then Rachel most likely was evicted instead of Lawon. Also, if Brendon does not come back into the game, then Rachel had a good chance of leaving when Dani won HOH.

Frank Eudy - Big Brother 14

Frank was looked at as the underdog in the latter portion of Big Brother 14. However, he does not get that far if the coaches are not brought into the game.

Right before Frank's would be eviction, the coaches voted on whether or not they would enter the game as players. On a vote of 3-1, the coaches were now players and the eviction for that week was canceled, which saved Frank's game. It is practically confirmed that Frank would have been evicted as Dan told Boogie right after the vote that the plan was to evict Frank. If Frank was evicted this early then it is possible that he does not come back for Big Brother 18.

Ian Terry - Big Brother 14

Ian played a good game in Big Brother 14 until Dan blew up his spot in week 7. Dan told Frank that Ian told the other side of the house everything. Frank then wanted to get Ian out, but he got lucky that a new twist came into the game this week.

The twist was a second veto got put into play. This was rare in Big Brother so it was a shock to the whole house. Ian won the second veto which was huge for him. Once Dan convinced Frank to work with him, Jen used the other veto to take Dan off the block. Frank wanted to put Ian up and evict him, but he could not do that because Ian had the rare second veto. Therefore, without that veto, Ian likely does not win.

Elissa Reilly - Big Brother 15

Elissa was on the highly controversial 15th season of the show. She is the sister of former player Rachel, so she got lots of help from America with the interactive twist that season.

Each week America voted for an MVP who got to make a third nominee. Since America liked Rachel, Elissa was voted the MVP for the first three weeks of the season. She was extremely powerful in the pre-jury portion of the game and used this power to align herself with the majority of the house. Without this power, she would have been voted off early because of her relation to a Big Brother legend.

Derrick Levasseur - Big Brother 16

Derrick Lavasseur smiling to the camera in Big Brother

Derrick is in the upper echelon of Big Brother players and controlled his game from start to finish. However, there was one twist that could have possibly made Derrick lose control and not win.

In week 11, there was a new twist where a random button was put into the house. The houseguests did not know what would happen if they pushed it. They ultimately decided to and found out a few days later that the whole week is about to be played again. This rewind gave Derrick the opportunity to get Frankie out, who was most likely the one person who would have eliminated Derrick. So, when Frankie got evicted in the new week, it practically solidifies Derrick's win.

Victor Arroyo - Big Brother 18

Victor is famous in Big Brother history for being the only player ever to return twice in one season. Victor was a good player and he was well-liked in the house, but his physical capabilities scared a lot of people.

Victor's most notable characteristic was his physical presence and his ability to be dominant in challenges. So the first battle-back competition was not too hard for him. When he was voted off again, he won another competition to get back into the game. He was not lucky that he won all these challenges, but lucky that this was the first time ever there were two battle-back competitions in the same season.
