After being canceled by FOX following its third season finale, Lucifer found itself a new home on Netflix. Since then, the show has been released in batches, rather than the weekly format viewers were used to. Season 5 was originally meant to serve as an ending to the series, but a new deal was struck and Lucifer was extended for a sixth and final season.

It's the little moments that make a big difference, and just this small change in Chloe and Lucifer's relationship represented a step in the right direction. They spent a lot of time repressing their feelings for each other, and there was always a reason why they couldn't be together.

For a little while, at least, there was nothing stopping Chloe and Lucifer from doing the things they never could before. Chloe Stand Up To Lucifer's Father

Chloe meets God in Lucifer.

It takes a strong-willed person to stand up to the creator of the universe, and Chloe didn't hesitate for a single second. She marched over to God and let him know how she felt about the way he treated Lucifer and didn't say it too politely either.

Chloe kept adding in the word "respectfully," but there wasn't much respect in the tone of her voice. Considering that God is in charge of her fate, Chloe going off on him was proof of how much she cares about Lucifer and wants him to be treated with the love he deserves.

To no one's surprise, Chloe didn't need rescuing when she was captured. She waited in her cell for Michael to come back and hit him over the head before running out the door. However, it was Lucifer, not Michael, who came for her, and after seeing Dan and Maze, Chloe realizes she made a mistake.

She apologies immediately and kisses Lucifer before pulling him into a hug. Lucifer tells Chloe, "You can whack me anytime," with a voice that says he's just relieved to have her back.

At the end of the day, Chloe is single-handily the reason behind all of Lucifer's actions. She's his number one priority, and there's nothing he wouldn't do to keep her safe. Frustrated that he'll never be able to give Chloe the love she deserves, Lucifer yells at his father and blames everything on him.

All Lucifer wanted was to be someone who was worthy of Chloe, but he was standing in his own way. Thankfully, Lucifer comes around to realizing that he has free will and he is already a person that Chloe is proud of.

One of the major things that kept Lucifer and Chloe apart for so long, was Lucifer's worry that Chloe's feelings for him weren't real. She was a gift for him from God, and it made him believe that she was being manipulated by his father.

Amenadiel discovers that Chloe is the only one who is not affected by Lucifer, making her the only one with the ability to see him for who he is. She realizes that Lucifer chooses to be vulnerable around her, and she decides to do the same. Lucifer was still banished from the golden gates, and the only thing that kept him alive was his immortality ring. Lucifer tells Chloe he loves her before putting the ring on her finger and disintegrating in front of her eyes. Chloe awakes in a blind rage and charges at Michael for taking Lucifer away from her.
