The title of the final episode of Lucifer season 6 - and the entire series overall - has been revealed in a new behind the scenes picture. Fan favorite show Lucifer has managed to evade the end several times now: First, when Fox cancelled it and Netflix picked it up, and then when the streamer gave it an additional season on top of the two it first allotted. Last summer brought the news that Lucifer had been renewed for season 6, and that it will be the last season. Filming on the final episodes got underway in the fall, and recent weeks have seen production on the very last installment of Lucifer commence.

Lucifer stars Tom Ellis as the titular Lord of Hell. The series begins when Lucifer leaves the underworld behind to run a nightclub in Los Angeles, and ensuing seasons have seen him dealing with various Biblical figures all while aiding the LAPD with cases. Most recently, the first half of Lucifer season 5 introduced his twin brother Michael and his father, God (Dennis Haysbert). Fans are still waiting for the arrival of Lucifer season 5, part 2, though it was recently confirmed the remaining episodes will premiere in May. All the while, work on the series is coming to an end.

Lucifer co-showrunner Ildy Modrovich took to social media to reveal the title of the series finale. Alongside fellow showrunner Joe Henderson (and a photo bomb from star Lesley-Ann Brandt), Modrovich poses with the finale's script, which proudly displays the episode title: "Partners 'Til the End." You can see the full post down below.

There are arguably a few pairings who this title could be referring to, but the most likely is Lucifer and his frequent LAPD partner Chloe Decker (Lauren German). The relationship between the two has grown significantly over the course of Lucifer's run, to the point of it turning romantic. However, Lucifer has yet to say "I love you" to Chloe. That Lucifer's final episode title is perhaps referring to the deep bond between the two could indicate this development is yet to come.

So far, all signs point to an emotional conclusion for Lucifer. The cast and stars of the series have posted sweet tributes in recent weeks, such as the fond messages traded between Ellis and Amenadiel actor D.B. Woodside when they completed their final scene together. Lucifer might be about the Devil, but a lot of love and heart has gone into the show. That's especially evident with season 6, and hopefully it will resonate with audiences as much as it has with those who made it.
