Now the first half of season 5 has come out, many fans have some questions they're just dying to get an answer too! So here are some of those burning questions answered. With all the uncertainty surrounding the future of Lucifer, many fans were ecstatic when season 5 was announced and couldn't wait to see what it had in store for our favorite Devil and Detective duo. However, after the trailers and teasers, many had questions that just haven't been answered yet and are desperately searching for answers or possible ideas surrounding the future of Lucifer's time in LA as well as what's in store for the rest of the beloved characters.

It should be noted that a lot of these answers are speculation and fan theories but they are all waiting to be answered in the next half of season 5 (we hope)! Warning! Spoilers Ahead!

When's The Next Half Coming Out?

Whilst there isn't a solid date for the next half of season 5, it's known that back this season was still in production when it was halted by the COVID-10 pandemic. This meant that they were only able to film, edit, and release the first half but have been unable to finish the second half, as far as fans are aware.

However, speculation and digging around in social media suggests that fans should be expecting it around the end of 2020 to the beginning of 2021. Whilst this is frustrating, it's important to keep an eye out for any release date and be prepared for one hell of a second-half!

What's In Store For The Next Half?

Whilst fans wait for the next season, many have begun speculating the future for Lucifer and the rest of the beloved characters.

There are a fair amount of topics that need to be explored in the next half like Maze's emotional situation, Charlie's mortality, and Lucifer and Chloe's relationship. Neverminding the fact that God is walking the earth and Michael is destroying everything! Whilst no one truly knows what will happen, most fans speculate that God will reject Michael as his right-hand man and send Michael to either watch over Hell or back to Heaven.

How Many Seasons Are Left?

As of right now, there is only 1 more season left of Lucifer. Tom Ellis was known to have signed a contract in May 2020 to confirm that there will be a season 6.

So fans only really have this last half and another season but they shouldn't be disheartened as it's rumored that season 6 will be a little longer so the show hits 100 episodes! Nevertheless, the show was meant to finish at season 5 before it was brought by Netflix so if the show gets enough love then there's always hope for a 7th season!

Is Michael A Biblical Angel?

Playing the main villain in season 5, Michael is Lucifer's extremely jealous twin brother who is set on destroying the Devil and everything he holds dear, mainly Chloe. However, many viewers found themselves questioning how real Michael actually is.

Whilst Michael is a real biblical figure, he isn't exactly Lucifer's twin. It should be noted that it's pretty challenging to interpret the "real" bibles meanings because of all its translations, interpretations, and alternate theories but Michael is actually a heavenly archangel and not really known as Lucifers twin. They all come from God, they just aren't really known as siblings.

Is Charlie Mortal Or Celestial?

A close up of a swaddled baby Charlie from Lucifer.

This question really came to light in the last episode and has fans guessing and speculating throughout. In season 5, Charlie got a small cold which seemed absolutely fine to Linda and the rest of the characters, but to Amenadiel this was horrific as it meant that his son wasn't immortal.

On one side, it would make for an interesting story arc to make Charlie a mortal to force Amenadiel to deal with the fact that his son will eventually die, he will have to fully immerse himself into humanity, something he really struggled with at the start. On the other hand, Michael could easily be manipulating the situation to make Charlie appear mortal just to destroy Amenadiel and reveal his deepest fear.

Why Don't Amenadiel's Powers Work?

Lucifer Amenadiel shows his wings

This is an interesting question that is again full of speculation. Mainly because of what happened to Lucifer and his Mojo/ immortality. At the beginning of the season, Lucifer comes to the conclusion that he makes himself vulnerable around Chloe without realizing it. He feels secure around her so becomes vulnerable in all senses of the word. Now, this is what could be happening to Amenadiel with his introduction to humans. Around people like Linda and Charlie, he isn't immortal but doesn't have his powers which could show that he doesn't feel secure around humans but rather trusting of them. He feels like he doesn't need to use his powers.

On the other hand, God did punish him for betraying his trust and took away his powers, so it could just be that he hasn't earned back his trust with his Father. Now with the introduction of God himself, Amenadiel may be getting his powers back.

Why Does Maze Keep Betraying Her Friends?

Maze from Lucifer in the dark, wearing a hood over her head and looking angry.

There's really a 50/50 split between fans when it comes to answering this question. You have those on Maze's side and those who are definitely not. However, fans can all agree that she is a wonderful character with an ever-improving arc and storyline.

Throughout the beginning of this season, Maze has been struggling with being abandoned by Eve, abandoned by Lucifer, and then learning that she was abandoned by her mother. Due to all this, Maze sets out on a quest to find who she really is and understand what it meant to have a soul. Now it shouldn't be forgotten that Maze is still a demon and is inherently an evil person, but she didn't deserve anything that happened to her and is rightly angry at Lucifer and Amenadiel for only caring about themselves. So when someone cares for her and actually tells her the truth, no one can blame her.

What Will Happen With Dan And Ella?

Ella and Dan looking down into something on Lucifer.

Some think Dan and Ella will end up with each other but this question is more about what their future is rather than if they'll be together.

For Ella, she finally changed her ways and ended up dating a serial killer which she was clearly heartbroken about. Some fans think that she will take a break from the LAPD and find herself again, but others think she will bounce back and be her cheery adorable self, no matter what's hurting on the inside. As for Dan, he has just discovered the celestial world and all thoughts of Charlotte have surfaced yet again. He never had to deal with it so most fans speculate that he will end up trusting Lucifer and trying to improve himself so he can get into Heaven to be with Charlotte.

What's Happening With The Whole Mojo Thing?

Whilst is has been mentioned in previous seasons, this whole Mojo thing really seems to be prevalent in this series with the main focus being on who has it and how (and why) Lucifer lost it for a bit.

When Lucifer lost his Mojo originally it was pretty clear that he had unwillingly ignored it and been so vulnerable around Chloe that her asking the question worked on him. However, when he got it back it seemed like he was returning back to his old self again. Now is that a good or bad thing?

What's Happening With Hell?

Lucifer sitting on the throne in Hell.

This was a subject that was skimmed over pretty quickly but still left viewers wondering what will happen now there's no guardian to watch over Hell.

The last time no one was watching Hell the demons revolted and nearly took Charlie to be the new ruler. So when Amenadiel was 'told by God' that no one needed to rule over Hell it was shocking that Lucifer wasn't as furious as he should have been! It also seems rather interesting that no one needs to rule, so is this all part of a bigger plan or just a way to get everyone back in the show?
