Warning: SPOILERS for Lucifer season 6.

Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt) marries Eve (Inbar Lavi) in Lucifer season 6, and their touching and emotional wedding was better than the other ceremonies in the various Arrowverse series. Maze, a demon from Hell and confidant of Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis), and Eve, the First Woman and Lucifer's ex-lover, began an unlikely courtship that developed into a love story that rivals the Devil's own romance with Chloe Decker (Lauren German). In their own endearing way, Maze and Eve are as perfect for each other as Lucifer and his beloved detective are.

The Arrowverse has no lack of epic love stories and a few of the biggest romances on Arrow, The Flash, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow have culminated in weddings. The nuptials of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Iris West (Candice Patton) kicked off the 2017 Arrowverse crossover "Crisis On Earth-X," which saw characters from every series attend the wedding that was attacked by their Nazi doppelgangers from the Multiverse. After the Nazis were defeated, Barry and Iris tried to have a wedding, at last, but their special moment was overshadowed by Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), who decided to have their own wedding simultaneously. The finale of Legends of Tomorrow season 6 saw the long-awaited wedding of Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) and Ava Sharpe (Jes Macallan) also interrupted by an alien attack, but the co-captains of the Waverider still got hitched while surrounded by the other Legends.

However, Maze and Eve's wedding in Lucifer season 6, episode 7 was executed perfectly. Despite the protest of Adam (Scott MacArthur), the first man and Eve's sexist ex-husband, Mazikeen and Eve successfully got hitched in a manner that ideally suited both of their personalities. Maze was decked out in a black outfit that suited who she is — a demon who grew a soul — while Eve was a resplendent bride in white. Their vows to each other were beautifully written and were genuine tearjerkers. Even though Maze's "family" of demons were in attendance, along with Lucifer, Chloe, Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside), Dr. Linda Martin (Rachael Harris), and Ella Lopez (Aimee Garcia), the ceremony went off without a hitch. Maze and Eve's wedding was a genuinely romantic moment and an emotional apex for Lucifer season 6.

The flash season 7 fixes Barry and Iris wedding mistake arrowverse crossover

Compared to Maze and Eve, who are supporting characters on Lucifer, it's shame that Iris and Barry Allen's own wedding didn't get the same level of emphasis celebrating their romance, because the creative decision was made to have Oliver marry Felicity simultaneously. The stunt robbed the main love stories of both Arrow and The Flash, Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak and Barry Allen and Iris West, of their proper significance and emotional resonance, especially since "Crisis On Earth-X" opened with the West-Allen wedding ruined by Nazis. Thankfully, Sara Lance and Ava's wedding on Legends of Tomorrow had heartwarming romance and sweetness, which is all the more impressive since the Legends were fighting off an alien invasion at the same time.

Adam ultimately didn't stand in Eve's way despite threatening to disrupt her ceremony, and not even Miss Lopez's drunken revelation that she figured out Lucifer is really the Devil and her friends lied to her for years during the reception ended up ruining Mazikeen and Eve's special moment. The demon and the first woman boast Lucifer's most unique romance, but it's filled with palpable passion with both Maze and Eve focused on bringing out the best in each other. The fact that Maze confessed she didn't want to rule Hell as Maziqueen and she and Eve continued their lives as married bounty hunters was a perfect capstone to their love story. Lucifer was also smart to give the Devil and Chloe Decker a different resolution to their romance and ceded Lucifer season 6's grand wedding moment to Mazikeen and Eve.
