Netflix proved that they're able to produce heartfelt and significant reality shows with Love On The Spectrum seasons 1 and 2, and now fans are eagerly anticipating whether season 3 is happening. Love on the Spectrum features a cast of hopeful romantics who are on the autism spectrum and exploring the invigorating world of relationships. After Love on the Spectrum season 2 was a hit, here's everything there is to know about a possible season 3.

The Australian dating show premiered in November 2019 before it came to Netflix, where it was met with critical acclaim right away. Unlike many of Netflix's other reality dating shows that tend to result in short-lived and superficial relationships, Love on the Spectrum shared a meaningful message with audiences. The first season garnered a 100% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes who celebrated the show as an outlier for reality TV in its stereotype-busting representation and heartwarming story. Viewers were concerned that the Australian reality show's unconventional format would result in its cancelation, but Love on the Spectrum season 2 was fortunately met with even more rave reviews. Now, fans want to know if they will be treated to a third helping of Michael and the Love on the Spectrum cast.

Regrettably, there is currently no word on Love on the Spectrum season 3. While the lack of an update might disappoint some fans, this isn't all bad news. One reason why Love on the Spectrum viewers should hold out hope for season 3 is the series' track record of announcing new seasons. The five-part inaugural season premiered on Netflix in July 2020, but season 2 wasn't confirmed until many months after the finale. In November 2020, Australian network ABCTV confirmed that there'd be a "new season of Love On The Spectrum in 2021." Thus, Netflix could announce season 3 at any time between now and the beginning of 2022. Additionally, hopes for a season 3 are bolstered by season 2's increased episode count.

Love On The Spectrum

By adding another episode to Love on the Spectrum season 2, Netflix and ABCTV demonstrated that they are committed to diving deeper into the love stories of the cherished cast. Season 2 is receiving all of the reverence as the first season, so it would be shocking for Netflix and ABCTV to cancel the celebrated reality dating series now. While there are no plans for filming another season as of yet - as season 3 hasn't been greenlit - viewers could expect the next chapter of Love on the Spectrum to be taped in the coming months. Based on the show's history, season 3 might film in the first half of 2022 and get released by summer 2022 at the earliest. Without any official confirmation, however, fans will just have to wait and see what Netflix has in store for the Love on the Spectrum cast.

After two captivating first seasons, it's understandable that fans want to know everything there is about a possible Love on the Spectrum season 3. For the time being, however, Netflix and the Australian network producing the acclaimed reality show are keeping their lips sealed. Fortunately, if the show stays on course, fans will be enjoying another season of Love On The Spectrum before they know it.
