Autism makes me who I am,” says Chloe on Netflix’s latest dating reality show Love on the Spectrum. The heartwarming series follows millennials on the autism spectrum as they seek love through awkward but charming first dates. So far, the series has received great reviews. Amongst the lovely bunch of daters is 19-year-old Chloe, who wants to find love with someone of either gender. Love on the Spectrum fans loved the young Australian for her sweet demeanor. But what happened next in her love story?

Netflix has recently been trying to widen its perspective when it comes to dating shows. After releasing Indian Matchmaking, which offers a more traditional take on finding the one, it presented Love on the Spectrum to eager viewers. The unique dating show shares a glimpse into how exciting, nerve-wracking, and eventually rewarding the world of dating can be for someone on the autism spectrum. Love is a universal feeling, and Love on the Spectrum proves this with its 11 subjects, each with a different set of likes, dislikes, and emotions. One of those subjects is Chloe, a bisexual who, unlike the other stars, is not new to dating.

Because she has more experience than the other singles on the show, Chloe isn't new to having her heart broken by both lovers and haters alike. When she was diagnosed with autism at 11 years old, Chloe began to experience difficulties far greater than those of the average child.  “Life is not a movie,” says Chloe, who admits to being bullied in school. However, Chloe later learned to use her pain as an incentive to grow stronger, and she didn't let her tough past stop her from looking for love. On the show, Chloe briefly dated Marcus, but the admittedly awkward connection between them never blossomed into anything greater. She later went on an adorable date with Lotus, where they picked sunflowers and agreed to meet again. However, at the conclusion of Love on the Spectrum, it was revealed that Lotus wasn’t ready for a relationship. After this revelation, fans wanted to know if Chloe ended up finding her ideal lover.

The Sailor Moon fan spoke to Refinery29 and shared details about life after Love on the Spectrum. “At the time, I dated just for the sake of dating, not because I had any attraction towards the other person,” she said about never having been in love or having a crush. “Before the show, I would accept dates because I was asked. I thought it was rude to decline. However, being on the show made me realize what I’m looking for, and it’s okay to be picky. You don’t have to accept every offer you are given,” she added, proving that the show has given her a whole new level of confidence. Speaking of Lotus, who fans really wanted Chloe to be with, she said, “With Lotus, the conversation kept flowing and was hardly ever awkward.” The sunflower-picking date was one of the best moments from the show and Chloe expressed what she felt about it, by saying, “No one made me feel the same way as she did before. I kept smiling for hours after our date ended." When asked about her renewed approach towards dating after Love on the Spectrum, Chloe said she's ready to seek out new relationships. “Though I’m still nervous about dating and meeting new people, the show has taught me it’s okay to put myself out there,” she stated. “And I’m excited to start dating again when I meet the right person.”

Love on the Spectrum clearly celebrates love and diversity, especially with unique stories such as Chloe’s.  Everyone deserves romance and intimacy, and Love on the Spectrum proves that even the least experienced individuals can find deep connections with others—and maybe even love. Like series director Cian O’Cleary has stated, the Netflix show is sure to start conversations and help viewers understand and celebrate people on the spectrum.
