Love Island USA season 4, which will premiere on July 19, is set to feature several changes from the show's first three seasons. Based on the popular British series Love IslandLove Island USA features contestants, also known as islanders, who must remain paired with another player in order to secure the shared $100,000 grand prize. The cast can only communicate through text message, and with viewers also able to determine which couples stay and which are eliminated, drama within the Love Island franchise brews quickly.

Love Island USA season 3, which took place in Nīnole, Hawaii, ended on Day 40 with Korey Gandy and Olivia Kaiser taking home $50,000 each, although their path to the finale wasn't always smooth sailing. With so many contestants featured on the Love Island franchise, it isn't uncommon for fan-favorites and front-runners to lose their footing. Josh Goldstein and Shannon St. Clair, who are still together, shocked viewers by leaving Love Island USA season 3 early, while Cinco Holland Jr. and Cashay Proudfoot sadly broke up in January 2022.

Although Love Island USA hasn't reached the same popularity as the original Love Island, which has been airing season 8 since June 6, season 4 of the American reality dating competition show is expected to have several changes in store. Fans are excepted for the next season and cannot wait to see what Love Island USA has in store. Here are a few ways that Love Island USA season 4 will be different when it premieres next month.

Love Island USA Season 4 Will Stream On Peacock

The first three seasons of Love Island USA aired on CBS,  the same network in charge of other competition reality programs like Big Brother and The Amazing Race. While Love Island USA has retained a loyal fanbase over the years, average viewership numbers have declined from 2.19 million during season 1 to 1.65 million during season 3. Coupled with their desire to scale back the number of episodes per season, CBS sold the rights to Love Island USA to NBC, the network that owns Peacock, in February 2022. In addition to season 4, Love Island USA season 5 has also already been greenlit by NBC.

Love Island USA Season 4 Won't Be Censored

One reason why Love Island USA has found less success than the original Love Island is because of stricter censorship rules in the United States versus the United Kingdom. Although Love Island USA promotes similar levels of entertainment and drama, American cable networks can only broadcast specific types of sexually-explicit footage. Since NBC has acquired the rights to Love Island USA for the streaming service Peacock, season 4 will, according to Monsters & Criticsfeature "naughtier games and sexier challenges." For reference, some of the craziest games on Love Island have included contestants sharing food with their mouths and dancing for other players while stripping.

Love Island USA Season 4 Isn't On An Island

Despite the name of the series, only two seasons of Love Island USA were filmed on an island. While season 3, as previously mentioned, took place in Hawaii, season 1 was filmed in Fiji. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Love Island USA season 2's location was Las Vegas, with strict quarantine measures in place. Season 4 was filmed one state over on the coast of California, and although the cast hasn't been announced just yet, there are plenty of changes in store when the series premieres on Peacock next month.
