Love Island USA season 4 has officially moved to the NBCUniversal streaming service Peacock, and there are many reasons why this move will make the American edition an even better show. After three seasons on CBS, Love Island USA will stream on Peacock starting in the summer of 2022. The original, British series has aired on ITV2 for seven seasons. Alas, CBS apparently didn't reach the same level of success as it expected for Love Island in the US, so the production company behind the show shopped the American edition around and landed on a new home: Peacock.

For a dating competition that is all about featuring beautiful contestants and their fit bodies, salacious challenges, and "steamy" scenes, there were lots of constraints on CBS. After all, CBS is a broadcast network that must follow certain guidelines for the kinds of content it can air. As a solution, CBS implemented bonus episodes for Paramount+ in order to air more risqué scenes of Love Island USA, but there was always a lot missing from the actual main episodes.

As reported by Variety, Peacock has already committed to streaming Love Island USA seasons 4 and 5. The commitment includes 80 episodes, so one can assume that season 4 and season 5 will each have 40 episodes. This is already a major improvement from the CBS years that barely reached 30 episodes per season. Furthermore, since Peacock is a streaming service, it will have a lot more freedom to showcase risqué scenes and turn up the heat in the villa. This means that Love Island USA on Peacock has the potential to include more islanders per season and place fewer restrictions on them.

For viewers who watch Love Island USA via streaming, there is also a massive price advantage for the show to move to Peacock. After all, unlike Paramount+, Peacock has a free price tier for its subscribers. Granted, certain content might be restricted for premium users who pay $4.99 per month to watch the shows with limited commercials, but there's a chance that Peacock will release a bit of content from Love Island USA season 4 for free users to view as well. Additionally, with Peacock committing to two seasons of the show, there's no denying that the streamer will put in a lot of investment behind the series.

Despite the fact that Love Island USA season 4 will have a new home, there won't be any delay for the upcoming season. It is still scheduled to come out in the summer of 2022, just like it would've on CBS. Now, though, fans will have to switch up to Peacock to keep up with the show.
